romney didnt get the evangelical vote, and obama had an historic minority turnout.

Four million conservatives stayed home in 2012. Granted, you have some NeverTrumpers, RINOS and others who will vote for someone else or stay home, but that number won’t even come close to four million. Add a large number of independents and crossover Democrats and Trump will have a much larger total vote than Romney had, and in the battleground states that will be a huge difference.
Romney was a Mormon; sorry to say, but most evangelicals do not consider them “Christian”.

He had a few large crowds, but not these crowds 4x a day every day for months. Pay attention to the dialogue here, this has been discussed extensively for months.

At Trump’s events, there are frequently as many folks outside as inside.
Romney never had that.
Romney never pressed these issues Trump is pressing. He was a milk-toast compared to Trump. Trump is larger than life and has become somewhat of a folk hero.
Romney was nothing like this, and by no stretch of the imagination could you call his efforts and the reaction to them, “A movement”.
