Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has officially joined the Donald Trump campaign and has already hit the trail with Gov. Mike Pence in Iowa and Michigan.
After a heated primary season for the Republican Party, Trump and Cruz came out of the Republican National Convention with a less-than-friendly relationship.
"Sen. Cruz will join Gov. Pence in Iowa and Michigan today," Pence's press secretary Marc Lotter told USA TODAY. "Having Sen Cruz join the governor today underscores what he has been saying for the past few weeks and we are seeing happen across the country - it is time for Republicans to come home."
He did. At least he did it. The Never Trumpers will NEVER get my support.
Cruz slightly insulted Trump today when he said he’s getting on this ‘gigantic plane with Trump’s name on it’ to campaign, was that plane envy talking?
...keep your enemies closer.
Cruz will always be part of the globalist cabal.
Cruz is a snake. I hope that Trump has the good sense to never take him in.
I don’t want to see much of Cruz after Tuesday, but till then, I hope he gets out there and brings what votes he can till election.
They just don’t get it.
By all means follow your conscience. Especially if it tells you not to relish in spreading unsubstantiated rumors.
I don’t much care who a person supported in the primary. I’m not even sure how I feel about Cruz in my gut. I just don’t like lies and ugliness, from people who say they want to stop the lies and ugliness...
And why stab Cruz and his supporters in the back now? What possible good does it do? Who does it really serve? Is this supposed to win over the NeverTrumpers? Is this supposed to make it easier for those who don’t like Trump much to get on board, seeing how his followers treat the one guy who fought the establishment (and took the heat for it, even in the primary as it was said he couldn’t “get along with others”) while he was actually in a position to do so?
The circular firing squad is not helping. And the gloating glee with which it is done is ugly.
I’ve said my piece. Now y’all can carry on without me in this conversation. You’re going to be what you want to be. I just hope conscience - conscience informed by the Word of God - truly wins out.
Cruz is the one who supported the Chicago riots, not Trump.
Cruz publicly announced that he voted for Trump on Monday.
Thank you. I know many do not want to hear it.
Too bad.
I’ve never belonged to any party. I don’t like the binary choice between ‘this or that’.
The water’s fine, here, as an ‘Independent’ - or, as my State calls it ‘unaffiliated’ - at least until we have a new party that actually stands for original American values, instead of just politicians’ self-serving.
In all the confusion, perhaps you missed that Trump welcomed Cruz back into the fold sometime back. But, if you want to reject Trump's instincts, gourd ahead.
Won’t the real test be how many Cruz holds out here and nationwide proclaim their sudden conversion on the road to Damascus?
Will Nation Review rush a special edition with all those never-Trumpers publicly endorsing Trump?
And the final litmus test, what says Amanda Carpenter?
The only problem is that he has a huge tendency to lie.
Exactly right and well said.
I wanted Ted to be graceful before the convention.
I wanted him to be graceful at the Convention.
I wanted him to be graceful after the convention.
I wanted him to be graceful when there was talk of NeverTrump.
Now having taken a pass on addressing millions to support Trump a the convention, Ted comes to his senses five days before the election when at most tens of thousand will hear of his endorsement. So no, I’m not baking Ted’s play here.
What Trump and Pence do, is their business. I support what they do. That doesn’t mean that I’m going to watch folks act as if I am the problem when I have supported Trump and Pence all along, and Ted only now drops his NeverTrump stance and climbs on board the wrap-up express.
I’ve gone from supporting him to be V.P., POTUS, and SCOTUS to the point I wouldn’t support him to be on my local PTA.
Sorry. That’s my reaction to Ted’s antics.
He has nobody to blame but himself. AS for his rehab crew here, they can relish the moment.
Not buying in.
‘He was defending his wife against accusations of being ugly and the devil incarnate.’
