Republican nominee Donald Trump is polling just one percentage point behind Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Michigan, according to a new poll from Strategic National.

The Michigan statewide poll revealed essentially a dead heat in a state that has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. Clinton received 45 percent support, while Trump received 44 percent. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received 5 percent support, while Green party nominee Jill Stein received 2 percent. Two percent of the respondents said that they were supporting someone else, and another two percent were still undecided....

Dearbornistan will get the number of votes that Hillary needs, even if they are virtual.

I hope I am wrong, but how do you stop unethical hoards from stealing elections?

Keep in mind that Michigan has had Republican governors for 18 of the last 26 years, so I wouldn’t read too much into party affiliations in that state. I think Trump can do well there because your typical Michigan Democrat is very different than your typical California Democrat.

The numbers will still be minuscule. These are fringe candidates. They are not a Ross Perot, George Wallace, or John Anderson. The top vote for a Libertarian is only about 1%.

Democrats won Michigan by an average of 9.25% over last four cycles and 13.5% average over last two cycles. This poll is good news since it shows a 5 point lead in registration for Democrats and so means Trump’s message is being heard and accepted by Democrats.

Just to be clear most polls sampling Democrats as it was 2012. When in reality they're not going to the polls as they did in 2012.

Most people in freerepublic believed the democrats knew who Obama was in 2012 and fewer would go too the polls. Obama did get fewer numbers then in 2008 but it wasn't that far off from 2008 for the Rino to win.

Why would Bloomberg want Trump to win?

Thanks to all of you for your replies.

Tho I've no statistical backup for it, if I had a spare $100 to bet, I'd bet it on Trump taking both MI and PA next week.

Yes, we may have said similar things the past two cycles vis a vis the jugeared kenyan, but this election really IS different.

If we dont' win it, our Nation's survival is in serious doubt.

Nah. No it isn't. That was true many decades ago, but we are an urban nation now. That is why NYC outvotes the rest of NY state. That is why Northern Virginia, Richmond and Norfolk outvotes 80 other counties in Virginia. One out of every four votes in Virginia originate in just a handful of counties in Northern Virginia. I could go on and on.

I just googled urban vs. rural in the US. Based on the 2010 census 81% of the population is urban. The balance is rural which makes up 72% of the land area, but sparsely populated.

Romney won 78% of the counties in the US, but as we know, Obama cleaned up in the urban areas. That's why he's president.

All you have to do is look at the 2012 election map by county and see the sea of red and you immediately make the connection that most of those red counties are rural and in the larger states are heavily outvoted as a whole by one or two urban areas in their state.

I just looked into it further and discovered the US became urban majority between 1910 and 1920 - 100 years ago! Not sure why you think it is 50/50. Look around you a little bit more.

Go to the Virginia state board of elections web site and look at the registration by county. You will be surprised. Fairfax County has over 650,000 voters registered. Bath County and a ton of others have just a handful of voters.

If AA vote is down 30% like it is in FL, it’s probably not too far off.

Take the population of the 50 biggest cities. Then divide by the total US population. You will get .5.

Look at the data. Add up the population of the 50 biggest cities. It comes no where near close to half the population.

Population of top 50 cities in the USA. Link here

Dearborn has less than 100000 people and it's the eastern part of the city that's mostly Muslim. Even Obama got 26000 votes in Dearborn. Romney 13000.

Trump will probably win the Middle Eastern Christian vote which will more than make up for Dearborn.

Strategic National is owned by John Yob, a Republican consultant.
