According to the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer and the Washington Post, F.B.I. Director James Comey acted on his own when he, 11 days before the election, disclosed on Friday that new emails had been discovered which may or may not be relevant to the agency’s closed investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while Secretary of State. Comey, by informing Congress of the evidence, apparently disregarded the opinions of Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Justice Department officials, who had reminded him of the department’s policy of not commenting on ongoing investigations nor acting in such a way as could influence an upcoming election.
Comey apparently understood we was violating these guidelines, but felt he was obligated to do so because he had promised members of Congress he would inform them of any further developments related to Clinton’s email server misuse, as well as because of the proximity of the impending election. In a letter he sent to F.B.I. employees after alerting Congress of the new evidence, Comey acknowledged that it was unprecedented for him to inform Congress of an incomplete investigation, but explained that:
"I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed. I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record. At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season, there is significant risk of being misunderstood, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about it."

Comey just needs to come out and say there is enough information to schedule indictments on Clinton for perjury as well as divulging classified information and if the DOJ wants to meet with Bill Clnton first before over riding me, that is her prerogative.
I agree that he is righting a wrong but I bet he is under tremendous pressure from his agents. Probably trying to stem the tide of a full on revolt.

And based on some theories circulating around, you have to wonder if this very visible "we told him not to do it, he's violating policy" is not an attempt to disguise the fact that Comey is still in full cover-up mode for Loretta Lynch and Barack 0bama.

Personally, I think these are wheels-within-wheels, and Hillary!® has been thrown under the bus. Comey is just the enabler.

Comey, the bastard, had made more than enough money while being a “public servant”. He can go out in a blaze of glory here, and then go away.
Pretty sure Lynch wasn’t following standard procedure when she met with Clinton at the airport out west... so she’s one to talk.

he’ll be the one for those to go after first but it DOESN’T stop the chain of custody of evidence that CPS, et al found on laptops,cell phones and other devices in the Weiner household including his wife’s.
CPS/other law enforcement agency(ies)found information that was related to a federal investigation-it was presented to Preet Bharara who in turn notified the FBI.
If one thinks information found on their devices regarding a federal investigation has not been explored within a shadow of a doubt you are wrong. Regardless of what Comey “found” in the previous FBI investigation and his comments about intent don’t hold water now .
But here are 4 other things to think about that play a part in all of this: #1 some of the wikileaks that have come out most recently showing intent and cover-up. #2: more wikileakes #3: Kimdotcom 33,000 emails & #4: Julian Assange stating he has information to be soon released “that will lead to Hillary’s arrest”. #’s 3 &4 have yet to appear-perhaps Comey has a idea of what this is all about .

Comey may be replaced but releasing this info is not a personal redemption- he’s been excusing the Clintons for years. His hand was forced by rule of law

Yup .... Comey will probably be forced to resign/step down early next week and the investigation halted/shelved by the new interim head.
