James Comey has informed Congress in a letter that the FBI has re-opened (never closed) the Hillary Clinton email case.

So Comey was investigating and will investigate her server. What about investigating her? Al Capone’s gun broke no laws. Jack the Ripper’s knife broke no laws. Richard Nixon’s tape recording broke no laws. And Hillary Clinton’s server broke no laws.
She did. Investigate and prosecute HER. If none of her other crimes ever occurred, she would still be guilty of failing to safeguard classified information the disclosure of which requires a valid clearance, a secure area and a need to know.
There are three realistic possibilities that I see. One is yours, they know Trump is going to win. Or, they know what Assange was referring to when he said that info would come out soon that would put her in jail, and Comey is protecting himself. Or, agents have credibly threatened to go public. Fourth, but not making the “realistic” part of the list: it’s a trap.
I certainly hope you’re right.
No disrespect intended to any of the FRiends on this thread, but I think there’s some over-analyzing going on.
My interpretation — Comey’s scared, probably facing a mutiny by senior agents, and scrambling to cover his sorry backside.
There may be other interpretations, but I always trust common sense first.
Oh I am savoring it and it will hurt her no doubt, and hopefully ensure a Trump victory...
I just have no faith in the Pravda media or this administration’s quest for true justice based on all of their past actions, so I am somewhat suspicious.

That’s what I think, as well. Yeah - it may be some kind of underhanded sceme designed to get people’s attention (and the news) away from Wikileaks - but, even so, it harms her campaign for people to learn the FBI investigation has been reopened - how could it NOT?
Yes, if they (Clinton camp) expect some major bombshell to be released by Wikileaks and this strategy serves to discredit that, yes. If that is the strategy, then the bombshell must be something HUGE indeed.
They need not have been from the wikileaks source.
One can try to erase “sent” copies of 33,000 emails, but for each one sent there is one “received”. Trying to erase/destroy all of the emails that were received would be a monumental chore and even if you could track down each and every one of them, you cannot be 100% certain the recipient didn’t make a cya hard copy prior to erasing as per instructions from superiors.
My guess is that some of these “received” emails were located (or anonymously sent to the FBI), the content of which contained classified information or otherwise pertinent to the the original case.
Emails from the Bush administration is my guess.
The media loves a “Bush’s Fault!” meme.
Just repeating from above, the early voting likely prevents replacing her. Those votes are already cast, from her most ardent supporters.
The investigation almost certainly can’t close before election day, but again, because of early voting, it doesn’t have to. A lot of undecided may mail theirs in before any final FBI announcement.
News of this story right before the huge weekend of early voting spells doom for the progressives, IMO. Karma comes around no matter how many people you’ve bought off.

My fear is that they will yank her and put Biden in at the last minute. A large enough contingent of the public will be swayed to vote for Gropey because he's not Trump and he's not Pickles.
Comey is trying to stay in the FBI to preserve his security detail. No loose ends allowed. Even if hill were to win Comey knows where too many bodies are buried. Without some kind of show to justify his existence he knows Trump will demand his resignation on day one.
I agree, Comey’s basis for not prosecuting was ‘no reasonable prosecutor’ would bring the case. Now in light of all of the new material, how does this rationale hold water......

My guess is, Comey has and has had all along the 33k emails she deleted. Now, Assange says his leak tomorrow will have Hillary arrested. If Comey doesn’t get out in front of the Assange release, he’s going to be left holding the bag.

He was forced to declare no evidence. He now has additional evidence in addition to possible purgery by Clinton staffers.
It will be up to the new AG to bring charges. Rudy wll be the prosecutor. There will be no need for an independent prosecutor if the FBI hands it over
