Stockton Poll Shows Trump Holding Lead in South Jersey

A few weeks ago the Stockton Polling Institute issued a statewide poll that showed Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump in New Jersey by six points. And that was before the final two presidential debates and the release of the controversial “Access Hollywood” video that showed Trump years ago bragging about sexually assaulting women and the subsequent stream of women claiming he had done that to them.

Maybe the Democrats are in good shape in New Jersey as a whole. But the GOP is holding its own in South Jersey, according to a new poll released by the Stockton Polling Institute on Tuesday.

Between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23, the SPI interviewed 625 likely voters from the 2nd Congressional District, which includes all of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties and parts of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Ocean counties, including all of Southern Ocean County except Barnegat Township and the western part of Stafford Township. Trump leads Clinton 45 to 42 percent, while 4 percent of the polled voters supported Libertarian Gary Johnson, 1 percent gave the nod to the Green Party’s Jill Stein, 3 percent said they weren’t supporting any of the four candidates, and another 3 percent said they were still undecided. Trump’s lead was within the poll’s plus-or-minus 3.9 percent margin of error.

Yup it’s that problem of Dems controlling a city and it’s voters views, and it ruins it for all the more conservative Republican type folks in the state. It’s been their plan they been implementing for decades. Then when they had the big push to get Dems into Election official positions it really sped things up, in a bad way for those of us not liking Dem views and all.

In North Jersey at least half the radio stations are in Spanish. But still Republicans like Christie can win NJ.

A six point lead by Hillary in Jersey sounds mighty weak for her.

A six point lead by Hillary in Jersey sounds mighty weak for her.

In 2012 Obama won New Jersey 58% to 41%.

If it is that close in New Jersey, Trump is going to do very well across the board on Election Night.

I kept thinking that too. If Trump did a NJ rally it would make a difference. I know as you exit the airport he has his plane parked so you can see it sometimes, I did on one visit this summer. Didn’t have camera available :(

I have relatives near his golf course in Bedminster area. But Trump going in person to speak would do more. Most of my relatives say they are voting for him. A few, I’m not sure.

You are correct, NJ will never vote GOP, it is a communist State.

considering Obama won it by 20+ in 2012

4-6 point lead for Hillary is very weak

It is showing NJ is in play

There definitely seems to be a tightening of the race. Florida is closing and Monmouth which usually puts out horrible polls for Trump found that he’d cut Hillary’s lead by more than half since their last poll in New Hampshire.

He did a short one in Edison

But if he did a couple big ones here it would be fantastic for him. It would energize up NJ for him

I’m in a small town in central Jersey about midway between Manhattan and Philly. Our voter registration is two-to-one republican. Locally, the dems don’t even bother putting anyone up for election. It’s one of America’s great towns and that’s all I’m going to say.

The trip to Atlantic City on the Garden State is pretty :)

I HOPE I’m terribly wrong and the south can offset the north and blacks vote 20 percent like they did for skinny.

In Washington state, King county (Seattle) is where they always find the votes to win it for the commies.
Every election it takes weeks to count and recount.

South Jersey is mostly woods and conservative. Huggies might have ruined any chance for Trump there since he just enacted the largest gas tax increase in NJ history. Good going Christie....complete fool.

lol, I actually know folks that tried to make it the 51st state.
Back in the Florio days (early 80’s) my Dad was part of a group called “The Committee to Free South Jersey.” They actually had several thousand members that tried to start a movement for South Jersey succession from New Jersey.

Not surprised. I work in the Pinelands towns of South Jersey and I see hundreds of Trump signs but have only seen two Hillary signs out in the rural parts of Burlington, Ocean, Atlantic & Camden counties. Problem areas are the riverfront Philly suburb towns and AC.
