In the final sprint of the general election season, Donald Trumps presidential campaign is acknowledging that its playing catch-up to Hillary Clinton, just as a new national poll shows the Republican nominee trailing his opponent by double digits.
When asked on NBC News how she saw the state of the race, Kellyanne Conway, Trumps campaign manager, replied that We are behind.
She has some advantages, like $66 million in ad buys just in the month of September, thereby doubling her ad buys from August, Conway pointed out. Now, most of those ads are negative against Donald Trump, classic politics, personal destruction...kind of ads. And that she has tremendous advantages.

Well that is not good if she is saying Trump is down
She would be quoting the polls they have conducted
not some BS ABC poll....
I don’t know what is going on anymore
I am voting Trump and I don’t care if he is 20 points ahead or 20 points behind....
Exactly! That’s my take as well. They can’t leave anything to chance.
First of all, it’s probably not reality, and secondly, yes...she wants to ensure all the people who have said over the last 17 months that they’d crawl over broken glass to get to the voting booth for Trump really do.
I agree that publicly acknowledging they are behind was not the smartest thing to say. That could be really harmful on turnout, especially if they are tying to get first time or rare, unreliable voters to vote (monster vote).
She is still acting like a pollster and not as a campaign manager. If she doesn’t publicly at least clarify her remarks and do so soon, the campaign should consider replacing her or lowering her profile and limiting her press time!!
Because rich people hardly ever use their own money to campaign. Trump has proven to not be an exception to the rule.
Exactly. It doesn’t matter who says what until Election Day.
So you admit that many people think different ways.
You about she just said “we dont reveal our internals”
So many dumb responses to posts that this site is becoming a gathering of Nancies. And why lash out at posters of “bad” news? No brains or balls. Guess donkies are not the only dummies.
Businesses spend on TV ads for a reson. They move people-especially wussie undecided who can’t make up their minds.
Trump only needs to move about 3-5%.
He’s 16 days and is so close to the Presidency.
Why is he being cheap!??
excuse my typos. :)
Has the Trump campaign addressed this comment at all?
Kellyanne was anwering a question about whether DJT was behind in the national polls. And she said yes.
She then pivoted to the swing states where she says DJT is behind but CLOSE to Hitlery.
She says DJT will be taking his case directly to the people.
The race isn’t “over”, but we are playing “catch up”, if I am interpreting Kellyanne correctly.
Right; and nothing is going change my mind too.
Just to show you what games the Dems and their media allies play. A couple Wiki leak emails discussing polls. Posted here.

That didn’t sound like a we are behind
Trying to remain optimistic and realistic. We live in a country with a twice elected Obama whose approval now sits above 50%, so I’m not sure how people can be so supremely confident that Trump has this.
What really was concerning was after the debate last week she immediately dialed back Trump's response and said he'd definitely accept the elections results. (something to that effect). That clearly wasn't the message he wanted to send and he clearly knew it was a bold thing to say that was going to garner him some heat. It wasn't (I would believe) her job to walk it back.
Now this.
Besides the fact that I personally find it dispiriting, I find it just completely questionable.
How can she say that when some national polls have him ahead?
Second it.
Psych ops strategery?
