Clinton says she has 'no concerns' that Trump will try to jail her if he wins: 'We don't do that in America'
The Republican said he'll appoint a special prosecutor to look into her emails and told Clinton she'd 'be in jail' if he were in the White House 'I have no concerns about [that] whatsoever,' she told reporters traveling on her plane after DailyMail.com asked her about his pledge She'd said earlier in the evening: 'Every time Donald Trump says he wants to jail his opponent, meaning me, I think...we don't do that in America' With the debates over and fewer than three weeks to go until the end of the election, Clinton began her closing argument this weekend Hillary Clinton says she's not worried that Donald Trump will make good on his threat to 'jail' her if he wins.
'I have no concerns about [that] whatsoever,' she told reporters traveling on her plane from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia after DailyMail.com asked her about his pledge.
The Republican said he'll appoint a special prosecutor to look into her emails and told Clinton she'd 'be in jail' if he were in the White House now.
'Every time Donald Trump says he wants to jail his opponent, meaning me, I think to myself, you know, we don't do that in America,' Clinton said earlier in the evening at her Pittsburgh rally. 'We actually have laws and courts and an independent judiciary.'

arrest: Jail: no bail
conviction for crimes against the Republic
Didn’t Bill know ahead of time he wouldn’t be removed from office? The office is so crooked now. We need someone to bring honor back to it and it ain’t a Bush, Clinton or BO.
Sure she can. And Ford proved it.
“In other words, she knows that Obama will pardon her before he leaves office.”
Can’t pardon someone that hasn’t been charged with a crime. That, and Trump can simply revoke it.
Yes.
I’m going to laugh if she doesn’t get her pardon.
I think the secret Learjet meeting changed absolutely everything.
a line has been crossed.
clapping her in irons would change nothing, now.
Obama cannot pardon the Clinton Family Initiative or Trust or whatever they call that racket they are running. The dozens of sycophants working there will be on the hook and will sing like a pet store full of hungry canaries.
Have to bring charges before Obama issues a
pardon. They have nothing on her for now.
Perhaps she can share a room with Assange at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London.
I’m not sure what exactly Ford proved by pardoning Nixon. Would it have held up in court? If you consider the implications of a blanket presidential pardon, then it would be possible for the chief executive to create a whole cadre of immune criminals who would no longer have to obey any federal law or pay taxes. The idea seems preposterous on its face.
You can’t clean the swamp overnight. And with Hillary, it is not just a swamp. It is more like a nuclear waste site. Hillary and the Democrats have too many people in powerful positions. I seriously don’t think she will ever be prosecuted for anything she does, at least while she is living. Any attempt to do so will be painted as partisanship by the rats and the media, and the Republican leadership in Congress will fold, as they always do. Some day though, and I pray that it is soon, she will meet the Judge of all mankind. She won’t be able to lie to Him or say she doesn’t recall. Justice will prevail, but I don’t expect it will for Hillary on this Earth.
Hmm, so if Trump issued a blanket pardon then no American would have to pay federal taxes or worry about Federal law.
Seeing some possibilities here.
Oh she does,..she just wants to confuse her base. I am surprised at how I hear the lies barfed up by folk on the street...folks I would have thought knew better...
No need for convicting or even an open case.
A Presidential pardon can be issued for crimes that haven’t even been discovered yet.
Theoretically, a President can pardon someone from all current laws for the rest of their life
Theoretically, only those Ameticans born as of the day of the pardon, unless of course he issued a blanket pardon for “All United States citizens then living or to be born henceforth for all time, and those naturalized in the future in perpetuity.” That might work I guess.
No, the power of a pardon is absolute. Only if the pardon was somehow declared void by the Supreme Court or if it was narrowly written such that a crime was not covered could there be a trial. A Pardon is truly a "get out of jail free" card.
There is no such restriction in the Constitution. The power of the Pardon is absolute.
