If I could sum up the whole evening in 2 words it would be Truth Hurts. Trump didn’t go far enough. Should have just verbally turned over all the money changers’ tables and thrash them with a verbal whip. What a bunch of scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! The one pro-life candidate standing up to government corruption, and these “catholics” were uncomfortable and offended by his jokes. America is in big f’in trouble if these are the spiritual leaders of our age.
I'd add something else to what he said. Getting booed by a bunch of pretentious pr!cks at a $3,000/head dinner run by the Catholic archbishop of New York City should win Trump a lot of votes among Protestant and traditional Catholic voters in swing states.
The Archdiocese of New York completely discredits itself by inviting these secular leaders -- many of them radically anti-Catholic -- to a high-profile affair just to get a lot of 'effing money from them.
Most of those spiritual leaders will be voting proudly for partial birth abortion.
Pray America wakes
>America is in big fin trouble if these are the spiritual leaders of our age.<
.
Cap’n Obvious, pick up the red phone, duh.
IMO the sort of person who attends these high priced dinners is likely to be a liberal who has gotten his money illicitly. Either someone else is paying for the pricey charity dinner, or it’s payback for favors, or it’s salve on a guilty conscience. If I really wanted to give money to a charity, I could do it without the overhead of a fancy dinner.
I don’t mean to imply that all attendees are criminals or that all charity dinners are bad, just that there is a strong tendency there. It’s the church chili supper carried to an extreme and it’s gotten out of hand and lost sight of it’s original purpose.
If I were running for President against someone I thought should be in jail, like Hitlery (as opposed to someone who is a decent American, but just with different opinions and plans), I don’t think I would be willing to appear at an event like this and “make nice”. I would do the debates and that’s it. Would you shake hands with someone you believe is a serial killer?
You’re right. The cardinal seemed rather reluctant to clap for “life” — maybe because Clinton was sitting next to him.
At least he did. These are the compromising situations that must be stopped. The Catholic Church needs to turn away from leftists. And the reason they don’t is they like the moral courage.
Trump is a more powerful Catholic leader than this Cardinal afraid the heat.
Truth sounds like hate to those who hate truth.
it was also great when he pointed out how phony they were, his “friends” known them for years, they loved to take his money. He was awesome.
