They’re lil cuties.

That’s the way to do it .... clean one day so the next is a “play day”.

Yeah, I didn’t get here last night. The whole day was one of those “the hurrier I go, the behinder I get” days. Did a quick check of emails before going to bed and that was it for computer time.

Yep, it was HQ day plus we had our monthly meeting beforehand. Getting up another hour and a half earlier than I normally do on HQ day was ROUGH! Still not really awake. LOL!

I did catch some of the debate on tv last night and heard Hitlery’s statement. My mouth dropped wide open and I can only imagine the reaction of some gubmint officials. Holy cow!

We had a very wet but moderate summer. There were only two weeks I didn’t have to cut the grass. It looked like Sherwood Forest if I went eight days.

Nope, only one of us feeling puny. Sending “get well” vibes his way isn’t helping him feel better quicker. :-(

I was just distracted. You’re right that there’s a lot to catch up on. I didn’t even get to watch any news at the HQ because the other gal doesn’t want to watch it. She likes shows like Little House On The Prairie and The Waltons. *sigh*

It was hot and VERY dry here. The good thing was much less time on the mower but it was hard on the crops and everything else around here. Trees are very stressed right now.

Tonight’s rain isn’t a drought-buster. Only .4 an inch but we’ll take what we can get. The temp’s dropped quite a bit and it’ll be chilly this weekend.

I like the sound of the late night mild thunderstorm when I go to bed . Soft lightning, some muted rumbles of thunder and the patter of rain on the roof....

Very relaxing.

Hubby came in here a little while ago and commented on how nice the smell of the rain is. An unfamiliar fragrance to us, it is.

I’ll have to close the window soon, though, because it’s getting cool in here. But since the rain’s stopped there’s nothing to listen to now.

As long as it’s a distant thunderstorm, it’ll lull me to sleep. But if it’s fairly close, I’m outside watching the lightning. LOL!

He’ll be right as rain before long.
And then you’ll be calling him a brat for snagging the 50s and 100s. LOL!

Indeed. I’d love to put that little video on an endless loop and sleep with it playing. All that would be missing would be the smell of the rain. Nothing in the world like it!

Yeah, that on an endless loop would be VERY relaxing and have one sleeping like a baby.

We’re getting another nice shower now and between the sound through the window and the sound of it beating on our tin roof, the ol’ eyelids are getting heavy. LOL

Aw garsh and shucks.

(MUMBLE MUMBLE)

(BLUSH BLUSH)

Paul dropped in on Malta and cured my dad of the bloody flux. He was the only man I ever saw who could take a bite from a viper and just shake it off. It was the snake that died.

I made my beef flank steak stuffed with pork sausage for Paul and the guys. I thought they might balk at the pork sausage, but Paul said something about there being new rules about everything being edible from now on. The old Jewish dietary laws were defunct.

He told me stories about his family's tent making business in Jerusalem, and I told him stories about local finance. He was quite educated, and we spent hours discussing Greek philosophy and Roman poetry. He loved showing off his Latin, koine Greek (which we spoke), Hebrew and Aramaic. "Smart ass," I said to him more than once.

Malta isn't exactly a prime spot for intellectual endeavor. You have to go to Alexandria for that, and I hate going off the island unless I have to.

I was sorry to see him go, but he said he had to preach the word of Yesh'ua ibn Yussif around the Mediterranean. (Those Aramaic names are real jawbreakers.) I hope he drops in again. I suggested he make his way to Rome; they could use him there.

BTW...the rescuers of the seaglet posted this picture right before they captured him and took him to the hospital for observation. And he is a he. :)....and he was highly incensed at being caught by those huge featherless birds! Of course, he was very frightened too. Poor not-so-little guy! Check the size of those feet! LOL!

FLANK STEAK STUFFED WITH SAUSAGE

flank steak
1 lb mild Italian sausage
pepper
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 tbsp oil
1/4 cup red wine

Spread out the steak. Remove the sausage from the casing, and spread it over the meat to within 3/4 inch of all sides. Sprinkle a generous amount of fresh ground black pepper over the sausage and then chopped parsley. Roll it up and tie it with string.

Brown the rolled meat in oil in a skillet on all sides. Add the wine, reduce the heat, cover and cook over a low flame for 1-1/2 hours. If it dries up, add water a little at a time.

Remove the meat to a platter, cut the strings and slice. Use the pan drippings to make gravy.

Finally a relaxing evening for me. After multiple hallucination problems with Mom, I’m now kicked back and trying to catch up on the FR news.

When do you celebrate your birthday with your family?
