A tweet posted by Donald Trump on Tuesday, in which the Republican presidential nominee said he had been removed from "shackles," was met with criticism by the head of the Congressional Black Caucus.
"The moment an African-American hears the word 'shackles,' it's reminiscent of the era of slavery," Democratic Congressman G.K. Butterfield said in an interview with The Hill. "We're at a point now where Donald Trump is out of control. We don't know what's next."

Trump response should be “While I am disappointed to have lost the votes of the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, I hope this illustrates for others how little substance there is to their criticism of me.
Huh! A black snowflake!
So, now we have the poster boy of 1950's Insurance Salesmen, white as the driven snow, probably has a black woman cooking his meals and a black woman doing his laundry, is going to assume that HE is qualified to tell black folks what words, such as "shackle", should trigger them to paroxysms of depression and subject them to episodic memories of being in said shackles...which, of course, no one currently alive, black or white, have ever experienced the ignominy of being shackled for being a slave.
I guess, since he's the head of the Congressional Black Caucus, that he can say these things with much, much gravitas.
The absolute stupidity and ignorance of democrats and democrat supporters simply astounds me.
And the fact that a great many otherwise respectable and wise black men listen to bozo's like this and subscribe to the "everything reminds me of being a slave" meme, being spewed by a would-be Plantation massa, disappoints me even more.
Words white people should not use or, how to be a pc government controlled stooge.
Shackle.
Keep these handy tips in mind folks:
- “Gonna put you in chains!” = APPROVED STATEMENT because being “in chains” is bad
- “Shackles are coming off!” = UNACCEPTABLE STATEMENT because being released from chains / shackles is ... um ... ok wait a minute ...
It is so absurd to see and hear a millionaire congressman lament about the hardship of slavery.
This guy hangs out with the most powerful and rich people on earth. He has caviar, champagne and steak every day of the week.
Who the HELL is he to lecture anyone about hardship?
A politician that’s out of your control? Oh dear. We can’t have that.
(By the way, I don’t mean YOU, I mean Butterfield.)
Shackles, shackles, shackles, shackles, shackles, ..... does it hurt yet you Pu$$y?
I believe the existence of a congressional black caucus is “reckless” and racist. What complete losers and idiots. Shackle...shackle...shackle...
Reminiscent of the era of slavery.
If it was so bad why did so many stay on the plantation after they were freed????.
The language police strike again. Well I say, F-— the language police. Is it all right if I say that?
