The NFL said a confluence of events is affecting ratings, including the election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton diverting viewers to cable news outlets. ESPNs Monday Night Football game on Sept. 26 between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons aired at the same time as the first presidential debate, which drew a record-breaking 84 million viewers to the football games roughly 8 million. The next debate on Sunday night will go head to head with the game between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers, and the league is expecting weak ratings.

TV networks are giving away more commercial time this NFL season than a year ago to make up for one of the worst ratings declines in a decade... So far this season, TV networks have missed their audience estimates by about 20 percent, requiring them to offer advertisers what the industry calls make-goods."
"We see no evidence that concern over player protests during the National Anthem is having any material impact on our ratings.-- NFL Senior Executive Howard Katz
Not watching either. Netflix
They’re probably not entirely wrong. The debates are no-doubt taking a chunk of their viewers away.
They won’t blame the race agitators until they’re completely out of excuses.
I think another aspect of the low ratings is having Monday Night Football only on ESPN. Bad decision.
Perhaps there are more pressing issues facing the country.
I suspect that in the age group that counts, this issue is of no importance. They will be watching.
I’d like to believe otherwise and would be pleasantly surprised if that turned out to be the case.
The debates are cutting in no doubt, but there are plenty of games when no debates are on, and they aren’t doing well then either.
It’s not interest in the election.
It’s disinterest in the NFL.
Yeah that’s the ticket. We are not tuning in because they have been charging outrageous amounts for advertising. Well I am glad they finally saw the light and have addressed my reason for not tuning in. Count me back in NFL. /sarcasm
F the NFL and their fake games.
In other news, Hillary Clinton says that her first act as president will be to issue an executive order to have all federal employees take a knee during the playing of the national anthem if she is elected president.
Meanwhile, an employee at one of Donald Trumps properties dropped their tray in the cafeteria causing a mess. Proving once again, that Donald Trump is unfit to be president.
TODAYS 10AM game in Reno is the Tom Brady game against Cleveland-no choice unless we pay for the Ticket. Cleveland? Where’s the heavy lifting? They suspend him and then turn around and milk his return. Taking away from Breast cancer awareness month. Too bad Mr. Trump wasn’t talking’ bout’ tits. Oh wait. We’ll have November for that.
“Theyre probably not entirely wrong. The debates are no-doubt taking a chunk of their viewers away.”
Makes sense why they wouldn’t change the debate dates. Something bothering me though. It seems like we are seeing classic Cloward-Piven strategy by the left to overburden the system. Based on that, it would almost seem that this repudiation of the National Anthem by BLM supporters is designed to destroy the NFL.
We all know why their ratings are down.
Your pic speaks for itself.
Actually what we have here is unprecedented disinterest in watching ungrateful millionaires disrespecting us.
Most of their potential audience have DVRs. They could watch the game, and watch the DVR’ed debate later. But they choose not to. This tells you all you need to know.
No more ignorant, arrogant creatures than PC media Leftists who call themselves sports “reporters” and an NFL hierarchy & commissioner who cater to the tatted ferals sitting on couches in front of their TVs with a bag of Doritos in one hand, a malt liquor in the other, a rock of crack in the left pocket, and a 9mm in the right.
TRASH THE NFL PUBLICALLY
Tell the manager to change the channel.
It is insulting political junk. It works. They turn it off.
I have to confess I watch the Broncos...but only OTA. Cable would be tracked for ratings, not so for OTA.
Forget all the other teams. I won’t watch them.
