Oh THAT’S gonna be fun tomorrow. NOT!
Ya know what takes the itch out of mosquito bites? Ammonia.
When I first moved to the farm, Hubby’s parents had several little tubes of anti-itch stuff that worked well and it stunk like ammonia. I read the ingredients one day and that’s ALL it was. And it was around $3 for a little tube! I said to heck with that and we just use ammonia from the bottle now. A heck of a lot cheaper.

Use it the first time the bite itches and you might get through the day without any more misery.

IRVING BERLIN: “OH, HOW I HATE TO GET UP IN THE MORNING”

Irving was 53 at the time of Pearl Harbor. In spite of that, he returned to Camp Upton at Yaphank, Long Island. He took some songs from “Yip Yip Yaphank” of 1918, took a few more songs out of his desk drawer, and wrote a new all-soldier show titled “This is the Army.” It premiered at the Broadway Theater on July 4, 1942. The show went on tour in the US as well as all combat areas of Europe and the Pacific. It was made into a movie by Warner Brothers in 1943 that starred, among other notables, the young Ronald Reagan. Irving donated all royalties for this show to charity, and the proceeds amounted to over $10 million! For this, Irving received the Medal of Merit from General George Marshall, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Irving was well known as a man about town in New York, instantly recognizable in high society, the theater and even on the street. On opening night, when Irving climbed into his World War I doughboy uniform and came on stage, the theater erupted. No one had expected Irving to actually sing, and the sight of him in uniform stopped the show: he got a 15 minute standing ovation. This clip is from the 1943 film.

I noticed too! I have a tube of it and wondered why it smelled like that...and made my eyes burn! But it does work! I need to buy a bottle of the real deal. I think we’re out!

It’s gonna be distracting to have an itchy toe inside that shoe! LOL!

Oh...I talked to hubby and we decided that it’d be better to wait till I return from my trip to retire. So I don’t worry the whole time I’m gone if I’ll be on the next schedule! LOL! Plus a couple of weeks more of salary can’t hurt...right? :)
