‘Missing’ White Voters Could Elect Trump. But First They Need To Register.

In 2012, President Obama won re-election by almost 5 million votes, but about 47 million eligible white voters without a college degree — including 24 million men — didn’t bother to vote. In 2016, these nonvoters are part of the demographic that is most strongly in favor of Donald Trump.

If Trump rouses even a fraction of these notoriously disaffected Americans — like this grease-smudged, 61-year-old first-time voter in western Pennsylvania — he could surge to victory. There’s just one catch: If we’re on the cusp of a blue-collar Great Awakening, it’s not yet showing up in the registration data.

In the 15 months since Trump announced his run, net registration gains in heavily white, rural and GOP-leaning counties have been unremarkable.

it could be that white working class voters are out there to be activated, but Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee have waited until too late to build the analytics and ground infrastructure necessary to identify and register them. That’s where Clinton and the Democrats have excelled.

The question is whether they have been sitting out elections for a while and are only now going to show up for Trump.

If they were registered they’d show up someplace. And if they’re registered someplace other than where they currently live the registration is void.

My point is that most of the 47 million white voters who did not vote in 2012 are probably registered to vote. It is probably not a registration problem - it is the fact that they simply have not voted in many election cycles.

You know, I can't imagine a single "secret" Hillary voter. Those who support her are open and even obnoxious about the fact. On the other hand, I can imagine tens of thousands of "secret" Trump voters. Just look at the man who was attacked in California for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.

No, for even physical harm's sake, many people have to keep their Trump intentions private. Oh, but the groudswell just beneath the surface, out of view of the media and others. These privately held decisions to vote Trump are "broken glass" decisions. When the man in California is assaulted for simply wearing a hat, we are all assaulted!

The media doesn't understand (purposely, no doubt) the enthusiam gap is INCREDIBLE! 25,000 people don't come out on a Tuesday afternoon, stand in line for up to five hours, just to get a glimpse of Donald Trump and hear him for a few minutes without a STRONG commitment to vote!!

I'm confident Donald J. Trump will be the 45th President of the United States!

Uh, Natey: in Cuyahoga Co. (BLUE/Cleveland) we saw a NET shift of 97,000 voters minimum (not even counting undecideds) to Republicans. That, by itself, would erase HALF the number that Minion lost by in 2012.

Number estimates vary some, but 20-30 million registered voters did not vote in 2012, and something like another 50-60 million citizens are eligible to vote but not even registered.

Self-described ‘born again Christians’ should be a natural target for conservative GOTV, but are supposedly no more likely than other Americans to register and vote.

I have multiple college degrees so don't exactly fit the stated demographic, but I refused to vote in the last election. I held my nose to vote for Jorge Busho and nearly puked to vote for McCain, but refused to vote for Romney.

I decided to never vote for a liberal again. Trump is different. Now we've got a candidate that at least appears to be listening to the electorate. The fools that preceded him apparently didn't care. I will vote this time and suspect that the white conservatives who were staying home will do likewise.

The reality we are seeing is that those enrolled in college are getting indoctrination in exchange for their title.

I was at a Trump rally, waited 3 hours in line to get into the venue. I saw and felt the enthusiasm first hand. I felt the energy and love for the America First candidate. Few, if any, foreigners see this in media.
