These folks are probably already registered. Heck, virtually everyone (including non-citizens) are on the voter roll somewhere.
The question is whether they have been sitting out elections for a while and are only now going to show up for Trump.

If they were registered they’d show up someplace. And if they’re registered someplace other than where they currently live the registration is void.
The article’s point still stands.
Get out there and get the RIGHT people registered.

I suspect that the decline of Christian conservative political organizations has something to do with the missing white voters. The Christian Right used to do quite a bit of voter registration and turnout among their congregations. The disappointments of the Bush years and afterward though diminished trust in the GOP, and many evangelical Christian congregations have turned away from politics as they struggled with recruitment, retention, and finances.
