Mika Brzezinski went on an epic feminist rant on today’s Morning Joe, condemning not just Donald Trump for his comments about a former Miss Universe, but raging against the entire beauty pageant culture in which women are judged on their . . beauty.
Mika summed up her intellectual argument this way: “you stupid men.” Brzezinski considers it unfair that beauty pageant contestants are expected to be trim, whereas men like Trump and Newt Gingrich “can walk around as rotund as all get out.” But if those guys had entered the Mr. Universe contest, every inch of their oiled bodies would come under the microscope. But they haven’t. Thank God. And if a woman in exercise of her free will enters a beauty contest, that’s her choice.

Beauty Pageants are like sailboats in a few regards... anyone (almost) can enjoy them from afar, they require huge contributions of time and resources to be successfully managed, and the people who work on them are typically fully employed... there is also a certain amount of self-indulgence that is required, but if you earn it, enjoy it!

Ok, honestly, none of my male friends or family have a remote interest in beauty pageants...I can honestly say I have NEVER watched one, ever, I prefer American football, UFC, and hunting shows...so who is the audience, I assume it is other women, so, STFU Mika.
A beauty pageant queen who puts on 60 lbs is a BIG deal if she’s going to be making appearances. It’s a “beauty” contest. Trump who owned the pageant at the time was making sure she trimmed down so she would at least somewhat resemble the beauty queen who had been crowned before.
He may have called her Ms Piggy but he got the job done. You’d hear a lot worse from a coach at football practice, trust me.
