I admit I do not know what the full ramifications of this might be. Should families of 911 victims be able to go after the big pockets that supported/financed the attacks? Yes.
What I am hearing is that we are setting a precedent that now allows other nations to further use our courts to sue US entities in likely frivolous redistribution schemes. If congress was to grow a pair, I am not sure this was the best place to start.
I welcome informed comments to educate me on the long term impacts of this.

Hope these legal actions don’t affect George and Jeb Bush’s jobs in the House of Saud Royal Massage Tent.

Alan Farley @msttrader Giving 9/11 victims the right to sue Saudi Arabia opens Pandora's box, allowing 190+ countries to sue the USA..

Why? I simply don’t understand this. I know several 9/11 widows personally including the one that is one of the biggest sponsors of this bill vocally.
It’s expected to be overriden in the house too. But to what point and purpose? Do the widows plan to sue? and even if that’s true, what will they ever collect? I know they’re unbelievably grief stricken and justifiably so, but I just don’t understand the motive here.
They will never collect a penny from the Saudis.

You raise a good point. Somehow I doubt this would be happening if Trump weren’t gaining on them in the rear-view mirror.

It’s all fine and dandy until ISIS or al-Qaeda shows up in the World Court — or, better yet, in a U.S. courtroom with an American legal team — to sue the U.S. government for a bazillion dollars over our “decades of American terrorism” in the Middle East.

Jennifer Bendery Verified account @jbendery The 2 senators who didn't vote at all on this veto override: Tim Kaine (Clinton's VP) and Bernie Sanders (Clinton's runner-up).

He’s probably bitter that he can’t even successfully sue the manufacturer of the exercise machine that allegedly beat the sh!t out of him.

The families could certainly request seizure of Saudi properties/assets in the US.

Oh, I’m waiting for the Syrians to come and sue over how the weapons were brought into Syria and given to ISIS. They ought to sue for hundreds of billions.

If I had to guess it would be to help Hillary apparently she did not agree with Obamas stance which is a first.
Probably a setup from the beginning.

I’m sure both of those guys are on the campaign trail, and it would have been pointless to go back to Washington to cast the 98th and 99th votes on any measure.
