OTTUMWA-Less than 24 hours ago many southeast Iowa residents were excited to learn that Presidential candidate Donald Trump would be making another visit to Ottumwa. Unfortunately, what was sure to be an event attended by hundreds or perhaps thousands, has instead been cancelled.
The event was schedule to take place Wednesday, September 28th at 2:30PM at the Ottumwa Regional Airport. The Post has received information that the Trump campaign has been forced to cancel the planned event due to the logistics of landing the plane.
Trump has visited Ottumwa before in January 2016 and landed at the Ottumwa Regional Airport at that time.
In a phone call to Arch Angel Flying Service, the FBO of the airport, we were able to get an explanation as to why the landing was impossible. An employee explained that on this visit Trump was going to be arriving on his larger sized jet that is fully-loaded. At this point in the election he is travelling with a larger entourage of people including many members of the media, which calls for a larger jet for travel. His previous visit involved a smaller jet that was capable of landing at the airport.
The airport has a 4600 foot runway and a 5900 foot runway.

Norm! Whatever works, eh? And thanks for the kind welcome-
“we were able”. They got you with an overly and rarely used phrasing. Why “we got” or “we received” didn’t come to his mind immediately is a mystery.
Kim UN would welcome those fellow Commies home.
It just struck me as a strange request/statement.
I was wondering when the first Radar reference will be.
Wonder if Trump will visit Crabapple Cove, or Toledo?
Thanks for posting this! I just registered for tickets for the Michigan rally on Friday! So excited!
