There were concerns that Lester Holt would be this debate's Candy Crowley. He was a good deal worse.
Every question was shaped to frame a left-wing agenda. Holt hurled numerous attacks at Trump. He only passingly offered Hillary a chance to address her emails when Trump had already brought it up.
The debate was structurally biased and Holt biased it. He repeatedly argued with Trump about the facts. Despite the ban on fact-checking, Holt attempted to debate Trump on the Iraq War and on the birth certificate. It was a disgraceful and a biased performance. It is a reminder that the structure of the debates must be changed to prevent mainstream media from dominating it.

Trump wasted too much time on the Iraq war. He wasn’t even in office when it was voted on. Who cares. He also got hung up on the birth certificate, and his taxes. Hillary got softballs all night. All in all I’d call it a draw.
Another name I'd mention to run all three and he is a gentlemen and fair is Bill Bennett...
So team someone like Bennett & Kinsley together to run all three...

As far as I was concerned it was a “draw” from the start, I DIDN”T WATCH the media’s pre-planned “circus”. The only people that benefited from that, and future debates will be the media selling “TV air time”. IMO, it was a waste of good electricity. If you haven’t decided who to vote for by now, listening to those pre-staged events won’t resolve your un-decision.

Agreed. But as another here has pointed out, it was like watching a car race. I wanted to see Hillary crash and burn.
The questions were definitely chosen to favor Clinton. The question about the birth certificate for example could only hurt Trump and was a gimmee for Clinton. The birth certificate is not even a campaign issue.

He argued with Lessie who kept it going. Frankly, I’m not sure whether Trump at some point uttered a statement in favor of the war or not. But he wasn’t going to let Lessie have the last word.
I thought the stupidest statement in the debate was when Hillary said she holed herself up away from the public because she was “preparing for the debates and preparing for the presidency”.

Leaving Mat Lauer's (metaphorically) severed head in Lester Holt's bed got the desired behavior, although probably not the desired end result(s). These are the Clintons, and they have always been willing to take things a couple of notches past simply not getting invited to the right events.
He may or may not get any additional bennies, but Lester doesn't have to worry about being Arkancided. Or at least I don't THINK he needs to worry…

All Trump had to say was...I wasn’t in office to vote or not vote for the Iraq war. Mrs. Clinton was. Ask her why she voted for it then didn’t support it.
He needs to get off defense and go on offense.
