“GIVING AWAY CONTROL OF THE INTERNET OR ANY PART OF IT IS SHEER LUNACY", JIM ROBINSON
(Vanity)

Posted on 09/26/2016 11:46:33 PM PDT by The Westerner

Several days ago, I pinged JimRob to ask his opinion of turning ICANN (internet domain name registry) over to Obama's soulmates, countries that hate America for its individualism and proud history, Jim answered with one line, quoted in the title. There is a way to block the transfer by contacting these Congressmen and demanding they stop the transfer on Oct. 1.

Folks we have 3 days before it is too late, please consider making just one phone call—more if you can... "Protecting Internet Freedom Act" Senate Bill 3031 House Resolution 5418

Wow, never thought of that even though texting is the easiest method of all!

Here’s the problem: I do not have text phone numbers for the Congress, only landlines. If you wouldn’t mind, please add a few of them to this thread.

Thanks, eartick:-)

Good to know Kentuckians are wise to him. But then, how does McConnell get elected? He’s such a Babbit.

Please stay focused on the thread topic. People will stop reading if this turns into off-topic arguments.

Folks, if you’ve read this comment, please call, write, email, text, twitter, a brief comment to Congress or anyone who can help fight Obama’s hand over of internet control to anti-American countries.

Keep Free Republic and all politically incorrect “speech” on the internet. Whoever controls the internet in the future controls free speech and freedom of assembly.

And like Nixon opening Red China during the Cold War. Then a rush of business escaped America’s massive regulatory maze for the simplicity of bribing only a few corrupt officials. Voila inexpensive goods for Americans produced by slave labor.

GOOD POINTS!

Without Drudge or Free Republic, how will we communicate?

Look, there is no way in hell we can Legally Censor the Internet, and we really need to crack down on dissidents, you know all you peasant serfs demanding freedom, so If we Give the Internet Away, our Muslim Friends can then Restrict the Internet to our liking. Got It!

Thank you for your observations, passion, and action :)

Why are all the politicians planning some vote on it in the coming days????

Because they really care about it or because there’s an election coming up in November.

The Washington DC tradition of ‘show votes’ continues IMHO.

It is coming up now because the Continuing Resolution is being passed by Friday...The bills were introduced in June, but Congress was not in session for much of the time this summer. It is crunch time!!!

Duffy and Cruz are working diligently for the PROTECTING THE INTERNET FREEDOM ACT and it is first and foremost Senate leadership holding it up.

Please take a moment and call/email/tweet that you want the Protecting Internet Freedom Act included in the Continuing Resolution. Thanks.

For what purpose. So I guess a nice sounding message back from my Republican politicians who supported Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell as their leaders.

The GOPe stages symbolic show votes on all issues and lets bad things happen with no intention of really reversing them like Obamacare, the Iran Deal and the list goes on.

This show issue follows the ‘sue Saudi Arabia’ bill from a few weeks ago passed to get Obama to veto it ahead of the election.

That bill was an emotional distraction from the fact Saudi Arabia was coddled after 9/11 because of its economic relationship with the USA going back to FDR’s time.

W Bush the president most of those Republicans love flew the Bin Laden family members and others back to Saudi Arabia after 9/11.

Spare me the drama and distraction.

Anti-Second Amendment Senators like my Pat Toomey don’t deserve my vote regardless of how they vote or what they say about this issue.

The same goes for my Republican Congressman Scott Perry of PA who supported Boehner and Ryan for Speaker.

Yeah, we’re all pissed off and fear for our freedom. Absolutely!!

But I, for one, will take action to fight against this massive power grab as long as there’s the will in me that says, “Hold on”, apologies to Rudyard Kipling.

wHAT PURPOSE? HUH?! SERIOUSLY?!?!

You know, it is late—I am tired and grumpY as my dog is sick and so is my computer—and to see this unproductive downer reply is ...well I can’t post what I think....

For now, I am not going to address all of your defeatist comments in your rather lengthy very downer reply to this CALL TO ACTION THREAD that was in BREAKING NEWS.

If only you could have taken the time to call a few rather than carp here...but then we get the government we deserve. Seems you get more satisfaction complaining than actually trying to do something...

Glad Founding Fathers and Trump don’t share your attitude.

Trump is OK and I know where he stands on this issue.

Trump means it.

The rest of them do this for show, for pretend, to get us to like their spineless RINO Corporatist persons so we will vote for them on election day.

When you start a thread you have two choices:

straight text or work directly with html code.

I know how to write html — ran a blog before the word ‘blog’ even existed. But it takes time if you have to type the code manually and then test is somewhere.

But after the first post you can simply post the web address below the headline [a followup post], and the link is made automatically.

Not only that, but having the address visible helps people copy-paste it along with the text all insto-presto if they use the ‘control A’ function or if they simply highlight it all at once.

So it’s faster for other serious researchers.

The only people who don’t like it are the ones who don’t bother to copy the text. They are less serious anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, but I’m now even more confused. And I’m someone who’s built websites.

Think I’ll come back to this after coffee ;-)
