ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIRST DEBATE BETWEEN
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Donald John Trump
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HEMPSTEAD, NY
9 PM MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2016
The 90 minute debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
Where are the online polls?
He doesn’t have to answer every single smarmy lie right there. He’s got commercials.
Dear sweet newbie, Guess you still believe the meme that Fox is conservative. Think you just outted yourself.
Clinton wasn’t quite as awful as I had hoped, but hey, it’s pretty easy to high jump when the bar is on the ground.
Democrats in the media will overestimate the actual impact of this round on potential swing voters. They will have come in expecting Hillary to be slick, not damaged (that’s just our partisan theme). And she was slick. But even though it wasn’t a perfect debate performance by the Donald, he did plant the necessary seeds of doubt about another four years. Now it’s time to build on that in future speeches and debates.
I would not expect the polls to change much for a while. Some of the issues discussed tonight have no relevance to the voter-decision. So it was basically dead air for about half the time. The other half was a mixture of good and bad efforts on both sides to make partisan points of some significance. The net effect would be a tie, status quo ante.
Were they allowed notes? I didn’t think you were allowed notes in a debate. She was clearly reading something on her lectern.
“WTF did I just see?”
Two fugly dykes?
Ouch!
Mark, would tell Hillary off, by saying, "Get off the stage, you big jerk!'
Didn’t see it, buddy...
Trump is on with Hannity at the moment.
I think he did all right; he should have hit her harder on intentionally using unsecure communications, especially when she brought up Russia and hacking.
He let her get some cheap shots in; he should have verbally bitch slapped her into the next county.
In fairness, though... He was up there, not any of us. So, bravo to him.
no votes changed hands tonight. I’ll be surprised if this moves the needle..
“Sounds like Hillary had the questions in advance. She immediately goes into a prepared response.”
I don’t understand why we can’t just accept that Clinton is an excellent debater and rhetorician. She doesn’t need the questions in advance to be able to go straight into her pedantic, demagogic answers and/or retorts. She’s not sick, she does not have Parkinson’s. She’s spent an entire lifetime developing the ability to lay out a great sounding case for big government solutions to economic and social issues.
The only thing now is for Trump’s surrogates to put the debate into perspective and tidy up a bit. Turn the conversation back onto Clinton’s disastrous tenure as Secretary of State, tax the rich schemes.
Ouch!
Exactly what I saw as well.
This is a marathon...not a sprint. More debates and issues of servers, emails and more might better be held back for the next round...after spending round one feeling out the punches of this b[tches debate team
...Trust the Trump. He has been through a lifetime of success.
I’d like to see Trump treat this debate like a football team watches film, and see where he missed opportunities to attack her. I think a few well rehearsed answers to the openings he had would go a long way toward rattling her.
LOL SO DID I!!!
DRUDGE won’t let me vote. I’ll have to wait for later, I guess. :-(
Fox Business has waaaay better post debate coverage.
Holt controlled the topics and ruined the debate.
