A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer shot and killed an armed man named Keith Scott at an apartment complex Tuesday, while executing an arrest warrant. Angry street protests began almost immediately.
CMPD Chief Kerr Putney reiterated Wednesday morning that Keith Scott was armed when he approached officers in University City Tuesday. Putney said that officers gave repeated verbal commands for Scott to drop his handgun. He said Scott posed a threat to the officers.

Channel 9 obtained an image from the scene of the shooting that shows a gun on the ground near Scott’s feet as officers stood around him. Officials confirmed to Channel 9 that is the weapon they confiscated from Keith Scott. (sourcing)

I traded a pair of hearing protectors for an old RG10 at a gunshow I worked in Shreveport LA about 40 years ago. What a tiny piece of crap! Traded it off later for a brand new CB radio. From junk to fad in one easy step...I had fun with the radio, we all just laughed at the RG.

All they need to do is set the narrative, never mind the facts, nevermind the truth. Truth often comes out later, as it did in Ferguson, but by then it doesn’t matter. The rioters don’t pay attention to the facts, anyway, and the buildings are already burned.
You can tell which cities are run by Democrats, tho. If there were anyone with Common Sense in Charlotte, NC, they would have long ago called the National Guard. No, instead they LET the rioters blow off steam, destroy private property, endanger lives, cause chaos - because, they have Soros Money to burn.

I just heard the police chief say he wasn’t releasing the video that shows the weapon until he’d had a chance to show it to the family.
I disagree. The family notification has already taken place.
Sensitivity to a family’s grief should not override the need to control a riot, stop looting, and prevent further deaths.

It is my understanding the a local media station WSOC, ran with the false narrative that the perp didn’t have a gun and was reading a book while waiting for his kid to get of the school bus.
They ran with this before getting the police report, when that report was available to them. They chose to go with the more scintillating narrative. They chose to go with the BIG SCOOP.....
I do believe that this station is responsible for incitement of the community and stoked the riots.

The police and politicians made a mistake like those in Ferguson. They have the video and now the photo but do not release.
The result is those like Hillary Clinton will side with the criminals. You can hear her statement on doing just that.
I heard the police chief say this morning that the video will be shown to the family and it “does not definitively show him pointing the gun at the officer”. Now why in the world he would say that I don’t know. No cop has to wait until the shooter is actually pointing the gun at him to take him out. You give the command to drop the gun, he does not drop him, you take him out. You be can dead in a split second.
Of course there was a hand gun. They are just using the event as an excuse to express their hatred against white people and against everyone who isn’t their skin color, to riot, to destroy and most importantly to pillage, loot and steal.
That book has 9 pages and another page in the chamber.
