Witnesses corroborate, and no book was found anywhere -- Police Chief: Officers Warned Scott to Drop Gun
Not that there is ever a good reason to have a riot, but the Charlotte rioters might be interested to know they bought a line of crap from the media, which just sent 23 people to the hospital and unleashed hours of chaos in the streets for no reason whatsoever. White-cops-shoot-unarmed-black-man? Dont think so.
As the video below demonstrates, the media caused all this. More than 1,000 people heard on the news that a guy holding a book was shot by police, and even though these people didnt know the guy who was shot, they came out anyway and rioted.
And yet none of what they heard was true. A man with a gun was told by police to drop his gun, and he did not comply with that request. I hate to tell you this, but that is going to get you shot every time. Not only that, but in this case - contrary to the medias racist-white-cops narrative, it was a black cop who felt threatened and fired his weapon, and a black police chief who backed up what his officers had to do.
For those needing some statistics:
Examining the Prevalence of Deaths from Police Use of Force
NOT SO!
Overheard at the scene, one officer telling another to "drop the book on 'm".
-—The media is out of hand, and needs to be held accountable for everything they print and say...-—
Horse feathers...
The media didn’t make anyone walk out their front door and start to riot...
Book ‘m Danno.
Black police chief says black police officer shoots armed black crook.

I would have to say, as in this case, the majority of the time they do have a gun. The number of times that a shooting turns out to be an egregious violation by the police, in my opinion, is quite low.

Any little reason to destroy and loot.
If you are ever in a race riot run to the nearest Home Depot.
Pray America wakes
Oh now, don’t use logic. You’ll give liberals a severe headache.

OK
Errrr, maybe a white guy told the black cop to shoot, then. There’s gotta be some racism here somewhere.

Even the cops duty weapon was black.
“Unfortunately, police nowadays have no credibility.
How often have we seen police report of a man pointing a gun or reaching for his waistband turn out to be pure hokum when a video turns up?”
Exactly! If the public felt that the cops were nearly always professional, there would be less tendency for there to be anti-soclal activity resulting. You cannot continually cover up any and all mistakes, with the possible exception of those instances when there is photographic evidence of criminal actions on the part of the LEOs. I have seen it first-hand. If you want to see the “circle the wagons” side of the cops, just try filing a complaint against one of them like I did. You will likely see every possible trick, threat, and intimidation technique in the book used against you including threats of criminal charges against you for the mere fact of filing a complaint. In my case, the only thing that drove the matter out into the open is going to the town council. These guys only understand force against them when it comes from someone outside their little club. And they worry about us citizen having a gun!
