Rush Limbaugh thinks that there are two separate videos of Hillary Clinton stumbling into her car but one of them is a fake.
Limbaugh came upon this idea apparently because the radio host does not understand that, often, pirated videos will appear on YouTube having been mirrored, or flipped, from the original source.
Limbaugh said:
In the first video, the van approaches from the left. So what they want you to believe is that theyve simply flipped this to show you a new angle. But you cant flip the video. I mean, you can play a video backwards, forwards, but it doesnt change the angle youre looking at. The footage is identical.
The second video purports to show a new angle. And this new angle shows Hillary in even greater distress, or I should say gives you a better view of the distress, than the first video. But what is intriguing to me is that nobody seems to have noticed that it cant be the same video. How can, in one video, the van approach from the left and the door on the right side of the van open and Mrs. Clinton gets in. In the next video, same setting, but the van approaches from the right with the street being on the left of it. And then the door opens in the van, which would be the left side of the van and then Mrs. Clinton gets in.
And all of the people in the video appear to be properly placed, and they appear to be reversed, lapel pins are on the opposite lapel in the second video. Its a really great trick, but the second video cant be one of the two cant be real.

“rush has been neutral in primaries”
Oy vey. Saying Rubio’s a full throated conservative in the mold of Reagan during the primaries is not neutral. Don’t buy into Rush’s revisionist history.
Who knew Rush was still around? He was so full of himself back in the 70s that I dumped him way back then.
How is expressing strong disappointment, disagreement, or a perturbed state of mind, "showing malice"?
Malice is the root word of malicious. I wouldn't describe a single comment on the thread as malicious. That implies an intent to harm. You think some here are trying to hurt Rush?
People are bent out of shape with Rush. They're unhappy. Disappointed. Even angry - but showing actual malice? I don't think so.
Rush has been fine and I see no reason to be pissed at him.
Many here, including me, do not agree with that statement. Rush has not been fine. He's claimed for decades that he doesn't endorse any candidate during a primary. He put the lie to that in the primary just passed, as he was clearly in the tank for Cruz.
Even when Cruz was beginning to lose badly to Trump, Rush kept shaking his pompoms for him anyway. It got downright disgusting, and yes, it pissed a lot of people off, because by that point, you were either with the presumptive nominee, or you were with the NeverTrump establishment traitors.
You bet some of us are still sore with Rush. We have every right to be.
He needs to go to the retirement farm, along with Hill and Bill, and all the others who are clearly crazy.
Good question.
Apparently neither you nor Rush understand basic technology. This is not a new phenomenon just an old out of touch coot who is years behind in understanding it.
This technique has been around for as long as people have been trying to skirt video copyright laws.
Rush Limbaugh thinks that there are two separate videos of Hillary Clinton stumbling into her car
*****************
What I’m amazed at is that there aren’t any other videos out there. With this event,
the celebs that were there and to think that no others decided to film Hillary as she
left. With all the phones and not another amature vid is hard to believe. jmo.
Post 79, by ‘Political Junkie Too’ is kind of interesting. In his 3rd example, ‘from behind Clinton’, the initial still seems to be squarely behind her; but when the video starts, the vantage point is off to the side, like the one that we all first saw.
I don’t know - I don’t know enough about the technology to judge how videos like this can be manipulated.
But perhaps some of us should have gone to the source instead of taking second-hand word as to what Rush ‘really said’. I don’t have anything against him, and have occasionally listened and enjoyed him - though I’ve not thought of him as other than an entertainer with a particular political bent.
I’m just glad we have *some* video of what happened, and that ‘they’ haven’t been able to hide it. We’ve got a general view of what I believe was a genuine and really frightening medical episode, happening to someone whose health and command of her faculties alone are too poor for any responsible person to vote for her for President.

Yes. Quite interesting and amazing that there is no other vid, isn’t it?
Disclaimer, I started in the Cruz camp...until I was shocked by his comments after the Trump rally was attacked by thugs and shut down in Chicago...the way Cruz tried to make the violence against the rally partly due to Trump's style of leadership. That was a horrible moral failure I thought disqualified Cruz...blaming the victims rather than the perpetrator apparently for his own political advantage.
It took me a while to warm up to Trump. I thought he was a bit too conceited at first, until I realized how big a heart the man has, and that his conceit is really about getting people to like him and impressing others. He is a get-it-done pragmatic lover of people. Sure he gets a bit angry and lashes out a bit more than he has to sometime--but I think its because he hates unfairness and gets a bit pissed--which is a good thing. I think on the whole he is the best man for the job.
Trump is not perfect, and none of us supporters of him are either. But lets not put any of our allies in the "basket of despicables".
“perhaps some of us should have gone to the source instead of taking second-hand word as to what Rush really said.”
Jane Long posted a rather longish excerpt on the thread (see post 116).
I read it, and unless Rush was trying to be funny, he ought to be embarrassed. Have a look and draw your own conclusion.
As to the fact there was any video at all, I’m with you. Thank goodness those bystanders were there, and had the presence of mind to record what they saw. This incident would have passed quietly with no one the wiser, if they hadn’t.
In one video, Clinton enters on the passenger side of the van; in the other, Clinton enters the van on the driver’s side. That’s odd.
Calm down hot sauce, just cause you fell out of Hillary’s purse yesterday when she passed out is no reason to call me a jerk. I have listened to Rush forever, I truly think once he got clean and sober he lost his edge I just doit to check in and get a nibble thanks for playing. Now lets beat the real enemy the Viral left and all the elitist scum on both sides of the aisle
“He was not in the tank for any of them. By contrast Levin was.”
Well Andy, in my observation of the two, Rush tended toward the covert, while Levin tended toward the overt. There’s absolutely no question that they both preferred Cruz over Trump, all day long and twice on Sundays.
There was a great deal of discussion here about it, during the primary.
Rush was able to segue into vocally supporting Trump much easier than Levin was, for obvious reasons. Levin pretty much put his career on the line for Cruz, and has paid a steep price for it - especially since he didn’t have the business sense to strike his colors when Ted left the race. For heaven’s sake, the man waited until after Labor Day to begrudgingly say he’ll vote for Trump!
You mentioned Hannity. Of the three, I think he was the most even handed and fair to all the candidates throughout the race. I’ve got to give Sean a lot of credit for remaining as neutral as he did. His good work was a benefit to all concerned.
Alrighty. Gotta scoot. We may agree to disagree on Rush this go round.
There were three separate recordings by three different human beings each using their own cell phone.
Each recording could be reversed (flipped).
3 x 2 = 6 different videos
Video 2 is 1 mirrored
Video 4 is 3 mirrored
Video 6 is 5 mirrored
I think that makes nine different permutations. Zoom one or more of them and the number goes up.
I think the different video reverse image caught some off guard.
With all respect to you and Jane, both of whom I respect very much - I would need to have heard it on the radio. In my admittedly spare experience listening to him, Rush can be oblique, and, yes, can try to be funny and/or provocative - and there’s a lot of nuance in speaking, as opposed to a transcript.
I don’t know.
But, Yes! We have video, and I don’t think it can be denied that there is a real problem there.
-JT
That’s why I posted (an excerpt of) Rush’s transcript, about this, upthread. So...in addition to being able to listen to his podcast or replay, folks could also read exactly what he said.
Here’s a link to the full transcript, of that segment of the show....

I don’t listen to him at all, any more, these days.
Youd have to be mentally ill to believe that bs.”
Get back to me when you’ve done 1% of what Rush has done for conservatism
And I doubt you listened to him much during the primaries
He is a traitor
That is the stupidest thing I have seen posted on this site since I joined 13 yrs ago. And that says a lot about how stupid that comment is.
“...theres a lot of nuance in speaking, as opposed to a transcript.”
Very true, but you wanna hear something funny? I’ve been listening to Rush for so long, that even when I read a transcript of his show, I mentally hear him speaking the words, as though it’s in real time.
I get what you’re saying, though. I’ll try too tune in tomorrow to hear what he says about all this. Who knows? Maybe he really was joking.
