The future USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000), the largest and most technologically advanced destroyer ever built for the U.S. Navy, has departed Bath Iron Works shipyard where it has been under construction for more than half a decade.
At a total of cost of nearly $4 billion, the DDG 1000 is also the most expensive destroyer ever built for the U.S. Navy.

Not trying to be super critical, but do the vertical weld lines on the side of the ship below/around the second front turret look concerning to anyone else?

That’s so cool that Obama will have another expensive ship that he will have run away from Iranian tiny and cheap boats!

Eh. Russian billionaire already has one and he is selling it.

Nope. Modular construction. Those weld lines are actually stronger than the plates on each side of them.

I was just kidding. Because the picture shows everything somewhat hidden. It won’t be long before they have lasers. I believe this one has a rail gun.
To: IVAXMAN
Actually it has a very small radar cross section. It looks big to the but is nearly invisible to radar.
If the USN gets the EM-rail gun installed on it then it can be ugly and weird looking and those words will become synonyms for scary and mean.

The rail-gun is going on the LBJ in 2019.

That thing is a destroyer in name only. It has the size and weapons of a cruiser. It should be named and labeled as such.
