After threatening to sue, the Chicago Tribune has obtained data from the city’s police department that tracks every time an officer has opened fire in the city over the past six years. The vast majority of those hit were black men or boys.
There were 435 police shootings from 2010 through 2015, in which officers killed 92 people and wounded 170 others. In all, officers fired 2,623 bullets.
The newspaper’s findings show about four out of every five people shot were African-American males. It found that about half of the officers involved were African-American or Hispanic and most of them had years of experience and were not rookies. …

That is why there is a desperate need in large areas of Chicago, to break out of the insane voting pattern that has enabled the worst elements to force their neighbors to live in fear; why a vote for Trump this November makes more sense than anything else.

What the police do while there is a separate question to be looked at. Chicago government has long had a reputation of being opaque and politically driven. Nobody knowledgeable holds it up as a particular paragon of virtue.
I would guess that 4 out 5 criminals in Chicago are black.
In 5 years the Chicago police shot as many people as the residents do in 2 or 3 weekends.

Chicago is a friggin’ war zone of competing drug gangs and other lawless organizations. Capone would not even make the top ten there anymore.
And in the meantime how many semi-honest or better gun owners are there in Chicago — thanks to the misguided regulations, mighty close to zero. Other than officers, virtually only the blatantly dishonest have the weapons.
When seconds count, police are only minutes away.
A good PRIVATE militia is an integral part of the US security model. We shouldn’t EXPECT police to do all the policing, to use an oxymoron.
Maybe they should aspire to be something other than criminals then.
