Three people have died after an attack involving a crossbow in Toronto’s east end.
The incident happened near Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough Thursday afternoon.
Toronto paramedics said two males and one female were pronounced dead at the scene. One male was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the man who placed the call to 911 is one of the deceased.
A man has been taken into custody, police said, and there doesn’t appear to be any suspects outstanding.
Police say a crossbow was found nearby, and there were other items found in the area that could have been used in the incident.
As first responders descended on the residential neighbourhood, police cordoned off a large perimeter.
Officers said they are investigating three different houses and are trying to determine exactly what happened.

Crossbows used to be banned except as toys. They were considered a poachers weapon.
Then, in the 1950s and 60s, George Stevens, of Huntsville Ar started lobbying to make them legal.
Now they are everywhere and are being made to look like pistol gripped As-s-s-ault rifles!

So it may be terror related, or it may be a personal thing, is my takeaway at this point. Details from the police are still quite sketchy.
While it could be any kind of nut case, IF the CBRN team has been called downtown in a related matter, and it turns out to actually be a CBRN event, then the ‘chance’ that followers of MadMo are involved certainly increases.
