WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- The UPI/CVoter daily presidential tracking poll released Wednesday shows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by less than 1 percentage point for the third day in a row.
The online poll shows 48.35 percent for Clinton to 47.48 for Trump.
Both candidates edged up slightly in the newest data compared to data collected a day earlier, though Trump has gained considerable ground on Clinton over the past seven days, the poll's full sample size.
Trump has gained 3.3 percentage points in the past week, while Clinton has lost 2.3 points, leaving the race in a virtual tie.
The UPI/CVoter online tracking poll surveys at least 200 people each day, leading to a sample size of at least 1,400 people during any seven-day span.
Because the poll is conducted online and individuals self-select to participate, a margin of error cannot be calculated. The poll has a credibility interval of 3 percentage points. This seven-day span includes data collected from Aug. 16-22, when 1,752 individuals were surveyed. Of them, 1,214 identified themselves as likely voters.

A tied race with a slight Hillary lead in UPI and USC/Dornslife.
One candidate or the other may eventually have a breakthrough but I suspect it won’t happen until after the debates.
As usual, at the moment Hillary is still the one to beat.
can’t be. Reuters has her up by 12 as of yesterday. They disgust me and I am embarrassed to say that I was upset for several hours after seeing it. I need to stop that nonsense. that’s what they want to happen
A perfect example of false precision. Measuring down to 100th's of a percent on a poll.
The more fundamental narrative is the polls will *always* show Clinton ahead, even if it is by fictitious 100th's of a percent.
Reuters?
You’ll have to ask why Reuters and UPI have such markedly different results.
Either Hillary has a big lead we’re not seeing or the race really is tied.
No one knows for sure the lay of the land.
Almost all the polls have shown her ahead when they’re very close.
Not entirely true.
Trump had a lead during the weekend and he lost ground on Tuesday continuing through today to Hillary.
Trump has led at times even when its close.
Exactly. Polls are propaganda. They're not intended to be informative or true. They're intended to push a narrative, drive page views, demoralize, and perhaps force candidates to spend more ad money.
Polls are also the laziest form of "journalism" available, so their perfect for today's lazy-ass propagandists. No researching a story or tracking down sources. Much easier to commission a poll, the more whack-a-doodle the better, publish it, then write up some boilerplate commentary on it. Zero thought process involved.
Reuters is in the tank for hillary. THAT’S why there is such a difference.
I’m just one of the idiots who keeps letting myself get upset
That is ending now.
I once had a vehicle with a broken gas gauge that acted like these “polls”.
We must bury Hillary!...She cannot be allowed in the White House!
The polls have them tied and yet the Liberal Media (in this case, including Fox News) continue to claim that Trump is in trouble. The propaganda is so bad that I can’t watch the news anymore. I want to see them choke on their words on Election Night.
A few times. I wouldn’t say many.
.9 and net shift of 5 to Trump in last week.
I believe this is the same guy that was going LongRoom. Same basic methodology with populations weighted to census data by state/county. My guess is LongRoom probably got sued by one of the media entities for publishing their polls and calling BS on them. Trump is up by .9 in this poll. If you read the history on them they apparently had some pretty good success in the 2014 midterms.
Reuters are the ones that changed the weighting of the poll after they saw the Trump convention bump. This race is very close. Remember Reagan this time was down a few as well and we all know what the final results were :) Stay positive :) All other factors point to a Trump big win !!!
The media and their polls... Up their nose with a rubber hose! Trump will win!!!
