Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is getting some assistance from Joe Biden in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Monday.
Hillary Clinton praised the vice president at the beginning of the rally, for being a consistent "fighter for families" and for his belief that "our economy should work for everyone, not just those at the top." She also said she'll continue his Cancer Moonshot initiative and ask him to keep doing what he's doing on it.
Clinton also criticized Donald Trump on several fronts, including his child care proposal. She said it would provide little or no help families who can't afford childcare, and she mocked his mention of "Trump Kids Club" as a model for employer-provided child care. The Associated Press pointed out last week that this was a program for paying hotel guests, not for the workers at his hotels.
The vice president argued that Trump is the most uninformed presidential nominee in history.
"He would have loved Stalin. He would have loved Stalin," Biden said about Trump, who has praised Saddam Hussein for his prowess in killing terrorists and has also had kind words for Vladimir Putin. And Clinton, Biden added, has forgotten more about American foreign policy than Trump and his entire team will ever understand.
Biden also made a pitch for Clinton's plans on the economy and education.
America, he said, "can be defined in one single word: possibilities. That's the thing about who we are - that anything is possible. That's the America Hillary Clinton knows." He also said that Clinton understands the hopes and aspirations of every working class town like Scranton or Claymont in America.
Recent polls suggest Clinton leads Trump by double digits in the the battleground state of Pennsylvania, but Monday's rally in the Electric City is an apparent move to increase her favorability among white working class voters--a demographic strong with her rival. A June CBS News poll revealed that 50 percent of white voters without college degrees tend to back the business-mogul, compared to 29 percent who support Clinton.
As Biden attends his first campaign rally with Clinton, President Barack Obama is expected to hold a fundraiser for Clinton while vacationing in Martha's Vineyard.
Um, Joey...Trump’s not the one hanging Mao Christmas ornaments on the White Hut tree...
How awesome if Trump would pull out a strobe light and set it off in Hillary’s face.
WWII did not end the Depression. WWII took place during the Depression. The Depression didn’t really end until late 1946, at the earliest.
Says Uncle Joe about Uncle Joe...
WW II had the home front going 24/7, There weren’t too many unemployed people. If it wasn’t for WW II, it would be like today with the same problems for people looking for jobs. Wars as much as we hate them, tend to advance us and open doors for inventions derived from war production.
Does Joe have any clue who Stalin was and what he did? It was leftist hero FDR who was another brain-damaged psycho and BFF with Stalin.
Are you through playing garb-@ss with The Felon Clinton, Joey?
I hope I outlive you, Biden, because if I do, I'm going to make a Very Special trip one day...
Som say that Roosevelt played the girl for Uncle Joe. :)
Dear Mr. Biden:
Stalin would have loved YOUR party... because clearly, YOUR party embraced everything Stalin loved.
“Jobs” are not an output; they are an input!
Could you buy a car during the war? Could you buy a refrigerator? Could you buy the food you wanted?
The war took place DURING the Depression. It did not “end the Depression.”
Excuse me, Joe. It’s Hitler. You have to compare him to Hitler. That’s the dictator of choice for leftists to compare Republicans to. Although, the WaPo, in their attempt to be the best Hillary surrogates they can be, has also tossed up a trial balloon for Mussolini. Your people always say Hitler was the right wing dictator . So that means Stalin was the left wing dictator. Based on this, if you are comparing Trump to Stalin, that means he can no longer be compared to Hitler.
However, it is Hillary who wants to give citizenship to and fund illegal immigrants coming in (more Democrat voters), keep the lobbyist gravy train rolling, expand government, take more money from citizens, shut down mines and add more regulations, nationalize healthcare, and restrict the 2nd Amendment. It is Hillary who wants to expand abortion - as the deaths of 1.3 million unborn a year just aren’t enough for her. It is Hillary who ran opposite a socialist and moved to the left to pick up his voters. It is people supporting people like Bernie and Hillary that interrupted Trump’s rallies. They have been seen outside with communist flags and burning the American flag. It is Barack Obama, of whom she wants to be term 3, who gave Hugo Chavez a hug and took in a baseball game with Raul Castro. If we are comparing someone to Stalin, it would be Hillary, not Trump.
Biden tries to hide his mean-spirited character and mental confusion behind the mask of a kindly “Uncle Joe.” This statement, and there have been scores of others, reveals that he is not a nice guy and probably is becoming senile.
Biden is so retarded he doesn’t understand that anybody stupid enough to vote for SHRILLARY! has no idea who Stalin even IS!
I’m telling ya, I’m way past the tipping point of joining a revolution if Trump loses.
Which he wont.
But God forbid he does, it’s time to dance.
The New York Times won a Pulitzer for reporting No Famine in the Ukraine.
We couldn’t buy a car, or a refrigerator, but we had both. (”A” ration for the car) Yes it was still a depression, but the war got us out of it. The depression was on its way out as the war progressed. I remember our eggs and potato meals and the ration ticket booklets during the war. Meat wise, the butcher lived next door to us, and they were good neighbors. :)
Yes, people had “jobs.” But the stuff they were making was getting blown up. That’s not prosperity.
Funny! I almost missed it.
