According to the Cumberland Times-News, Manchin told town hall attendees that “gun control should be governed by common sense.” He then criticized constitutional carry, suggesting that more criminals will carry, now that the law does not require a permit. Manchin said, “Before, we always knew who we were chasing — the bad guy — but we knew most of the people didn’t have a gun concealed, and if they did, they were responsible. We don’t know that anymore. So I’m for responsible gun control.”

Actually in the 2nd amendment; the word regulated translates to armed. That is the proper interpretation. The democrats always glom on to the word regulated to regulate. The founders wanted a well armed militia.

Regulated means equipped and trained. Someone with a rocket launcher might be equipped but might not be trained. But a full auto gun that is used by someone trained in its use qualifies as well-regulated.
ANY DC SOB or politician anywhere else in this country that betrays their oath by speaking or acting against the Constitution needs to be removed from public office immediately since they themselves do not pass Constitutional muster.
Carrying a weapon should have no more restrictive a requirement and then voting.
Joe, what needs to be well-regulated (not suppressed to zero) is the militia, just like the 2nd Amendment says.
Right now, we have gangs, BLM, New Black Panthers, Muslim neighborhood patrols. But, for most of America, there is little in the way of neighborhood or regional defense. The militia provided that in Colonial times; the government ruthlessly suppresses it today. A well-to-do person can hide behind a gated community, and a really rich one can afford personal bodyguards, but that’s not the same as a safe, self-defending community.
