A man scales the all-glass facade of Trump Tower, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, in New York. A police spokeswoman says officers responded to Donald Trump's namesake skyscraper on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The 58-story building is headquarters to the Republican presidential nominee's campaign. He also lives there.

NEW YORK (AP) — A man who said he was seeking “a private audience” with Donald Trump by climbing the Republican presidential candidate’s skyscraper was hospitalized on Thursday after his arrest a day earlier on charges of reckless endangerment and trespassing.

The New York Police Department identified the climber as 19-year-old Stephen Rogata, of Great Falls, Virginia. It was unclear when Rogata would appear in court or if he had an attorney who could comment for him.

Rogata made a spectacle of himself on Wednesday by spending three hours scaling the glass facade of the 68-story Trump Tower in Manhattan using large suction cups before officers hauled him to safety through an open window. He was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

A day before the ascent, police said, the climber posted an online video addressing Trump. He called himself an “independent researcher seeking a private audience with you to discuss an important matter” and said he was willing to risk his life “to get your attention.”

Indeed they are selling something. It is a con-job to bring Sharia Law into America’s political system and to deep six our Constitution. The idea of human freedom is being rendered obsolete with submission the ideal state of human existence.

I watched a short video I think was of him, and it was unclear at best.

I’m a little curious about the message he wanted to get to The Donald.

Me, too. Maybe he should send someone recognizable but capable of self-defense to see him, like Corey.

He needed a haircut. That might be what caused his failure: too much hair.

Surely it was heavy.

I think it is a mindset generated by the Self Esteem Movement. When a person’s self-image conflicts with reality, it creates emotions that people are not equipped to deal with.

There's a lot of truth in what you said there. It's a cancer on the body politic. I've had some astonishing conversations with young people who trespass on my property, and then give me a raft of smart mouth about their rights, in front of their kids, standing right next to the no trespassing signs. One of them even put a note in my door (unsigned) about how evil I was to embarrass her by asking her not to trespass in front of her child.

smh

The “I can do no wrong thinking” gives way to narcissism which is a mental disorder. The antithesis to this thinking is moral responsibility which recognizes the rule of law. We have a generation of narcissists who have no moral responsibility to our great nation and would participate in anarchy if it was in their self interests. Those looters in Baltimore are those anarchists.

Watching the police ‘help’ him to come inside, I wondered if perhaps his male parts had been. ‘er a that was not exactly a gentle re-entry I mean it really looked like maybe he was being emasculated...more like being gelded rather than being pulled inside...

Preparing McConnell's successor?

I don’t think so. Gurneying him was probably a very good idea. He was drinking a lot of water, and not urinating, so water intoxication is one possibility.

And lactic acid buildup (from climbing) is another possibility. Potentially life-threatening because it can also affect the heart. Lower blood ph, lowered ability to absorb oxygen, thirst that cannot be relieved with water, muscle weakness and fatigue, irregular heartbeat, circulatory shock follows.

The good news is he’s young and fit, so he may pull thru just fine.

If it was a suicide bomber, Obama might have thought it such a shame that the guy couldn’t have ‘competed’ in the Olympics instead.

I'm not sure, but this might just be the biggest load of crap I've ever read on the entire internet.

Replying is therefore problematic - do I get angry at the casual insolence and utter intellectual contempt and disrespect, or do I laugh at the ridiculous absurdities being proffered as factual knowledge, or do I point out the frightening historical similarities with the Soviet Union and Communist China bundling up political protestors in insane asylums?

How about this: go to hell.

...officials have no duty to allow him to risk his life in this manner.

Officials have no duty to save or protect his life at all, nor do they have a duty to save or protect anyone else's life - ever.

It's totally, completely voluntary on their part, whatever they feel like doing at the time - save him, kill him, whatever. And whatever they choose to do, they are not personally responsible for their actions. THAT'S the law.

crap? really? It must be a real drag when logic interrupts yet another budding great conspiracy but the fact remains that the child has not been disappeared. He was arrested when he was pulled in the window. He was gurneyed for valid medical reasons. Today, he’s been medically cleared and now his whackadoodle factor is being evaluated. If he’s considered safe to himself, he’ll go behind bars and lawyer up. Simple enough. No secret gulags needed.

It must be very disappointing to some people that the parents of Michael Joseph Ryan, who are probably not very happy about their stolen car, are relieved their son is alive and under medical supervision.

“Ryan’s mother told police her son’s academic performance had declined because of his “obsession” with an “Internet project” involving a blog on government issues, the police report said. Ryan apparently ran away after his parents put limits on his Internet access at home and at school.”

http://ktla.com/2016/08/11/trump-tower-climber-stephen-rogata-getting-psychological-evaluation/

required “normal” transport strapping on gurney, with head up (notice medic’s hand on headrest and Michael’s head is freely leaning forward). Michael is not struggling (notice medic’s bag resting on lap); he’s exhausted, and rightly so:

I’d like to know, too. I’d like to see this guy in good health. I think we deserve to see for ourselves whether or not he’s a raving lunatic or whether he has been “silenced.

Why does this qualify as insanity, but someone like Evel Knievel is considered to be a stuntman or an entertainer?

There are people walking around below. So yes they do have a duty to get this idiot stick off the building.

That is private property. Are you going to tell me they don’t have an obligation to remove him if the owner asks them to?

That's an obligation to clear trespass from a building. To the extent that they believe it is safe for THEM, they have an obligation to investigate the situation. But remove him? No obligation. Safely? Only their safety is obligated.

The law protects them, no one else.
