Something strange is going on in Ohio. There don't seem to be any bumper stickers. I drive almost 100 miles a day on a major four-lane highway in northern Ohio. In the last two weeks, I saw one Trump bumper sticker in the parking lot of a grocery store, one Trump window-cling on a pickup truck on the highway, and one "I heart Hillary" bumper sticker at a rest stop. That's it. Four years ago, in August 2012, Romney and Obama bumper stickers were plentiful. It's a similar story with yard signs. A handful of Trump signs sprouted up during the primary rarely more than one or two per small town, and often none at all. I have yet to see a Hillary sign. Last week, as the media piled on Trump following the Democrat convention, I'd had enough, and I pasted a "Trump, Make America Great Again" and a "Never Hillary" bumper sticker (from the Rush Limbaugh website) on my 2002 SUV. Maybe I was also inspired by a classic rock station that reminded this elderly boomer of how it felt to be "Born to Be Wild." My 18-year-old self would have been contemptuous of giving in to fear. I hadn't really been worried about getting my car vandalized, but I was worried about social ostracism by the Democrats in my neighborhood. p>

In the current environment, unless you are planning to use your car as bait and prepared to deal with the consequences, bumper stickers will just cause trouble - vandalism, keying, flat tires, etc.
In my area in NJ a “Hillary” sticker indicates the driver is a public school teacher.
You know, this is a legitimate story for the tv news teams.
Trump voters do not feel they can voice their support in public without being vandalized or even injured. Video footage of Trump supporters being attacked at rallies. Republican voters in a montage saying how their cars had been keyed even for a Romney sticker, etc.
Asking if Dem voters are decent citizens, allowing diversity of opinion without denigrating the choices.
Even asking for civility from all. Not to vandalize cars because someone chose a different team.
Would make a legitimate sociological story. WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Prejudice against the right is PERFECTLY FINE.
Bingo! When Bush was running for a second term, I had slapped a Bush sticker on a magnet and would put it on and take it off to keep my car to keep it from being vandalized. I was driving out in the middle of nowhere in the vicinity of Goldfield Nevada when a weekend, Barney Fife Junior, revenue raiser pulled me over and said I was speeding. I know it was the bumper sticker. The only good thing about the whole deal was that we got a good laugh out of it when Junior had to call a Nevada highway patrolman to bring him a pen and show him how to fill out the ticket.
Tens of thousands attend Trump rallies and because they don’t want their car vandalized or to get beaten by a tire iron, you think there is no enthusiasm? All the bumper stickers in the world won’t elect anyone enthusiastic voters from rallies will!
I have had a Trump sticker on my car since at least the beginning of the year. Typically see maybe one or two each trip out around town. Still a few sanders stickers, but NEVER a Clinton sticker. I have NEVER seen anyone supporting Clinton. I did see a Trump yard sign in South Lake Tahoe, California two weeks ago.
Folks will eventually awaken and realize the Democrat Party is evil!
I went to a site that has buttons for Trump, sized it, printed it out and put it in a badge holder. It is on my purse. I sometimes put it on my blouse.
Saw one car the other day with 3 hillary stickers on it, very few Trump stickers. Have 3 Trump signs in my garage, we decided not to put any signs up this year. When Romney was running i had the whole block except 2 houses with signs.
Scary times.
I’m thinking about making up a sign for my back window that I can take down when I park but big enough to read on the highway. Is there a #NeverHitlery on twitter?
In my neck of the woods, there used to be Kasich signs before the primary, some Hillary bumper stickers but a lot more Bernie’s than Hillary’s.
I’ve had a Trump bumper sticker on my truck since last October.
Never a problem. I drive it everywhere, and park it at work. Union shop BTW.
IDK. Maybe the NRA sticker on the back window has something to do with it.
I will not be intimidated into not expressing my First Amendment rights.
The fasicts are vandalizing Trump cars, sogns.
Just curious, phoneman08, what do the union fellas say about Trump?
Check post 88, printed my own out.
Mine is a Trump badge though.
Lawn signs stolen and vandalized in
Haverhill and N Reading MA;in latter
incident,Trump supporter almost run
over by a woman who showed up at court
appearance with big smile.
Stickers rare. Some Bernie lawn signs and
stickers.
I never do bumper stickers and this is the first year I won’t do a yard sign. Anti-Trumpers would look at a Trump sign and read “Racist”.
In GA no bumper stickers eithert. Too much diversity.
Trump people are cowering in fear of physical endangerment. Every day one is attacked . Yesterday it was a crowbar. Their rationale is that they will vote. But where I live there are no bumber stickers at all. I have a well guarded yard sign for Trump and my pit bull doesn’t like trespassers. IMO, This country is about to explode. This is the parasite vs. the hosts and either the parasites will be thrown off or the host will die.
Sir, what does that symbol represent?
Thanks,
MFO
