A group of students at the Claremont Colleges in search of a roommate insist that the roommate not be white.
Student Karé Ureña (PZ 18) posted on Facebook that non-white students in need of housing arrangements should reach out to either her or two other students with whom she plans to live in an off-campus house. The post states that POC [people of color] only will be considered for this living opportunity. I dont want to live with any white folks, Ureña added.

This behavior is blatantly racist and illegal. But then the media will accept this as okay because the student is black.

NEVER pass up the opportunity to identify these people and make them famous so that future employers find out their world view.
Sounds like segregation is coming back like in the 40s and 50s. This might be a blessing in disguise. If I recall, there was very little crime in those days.
I remember a time when her wish was everyday reality. :-)
I am a proud person of non color.
If she wants self segregation, she’ll get it.
Diversity and tolerance, as defined by liberals.
The university in general is one of the most discriminatory places on Earth. Students would be demanding they shut it down, except then they wouldn’t have anyplace to play.
No. White is the absence of Colored. It’s an exclusive color.
I was just pondering her future employment opportunities.
I cannot understand the poor judgment of these kids, advertising their immaturity on the Internet for the world to see and remember forever...

I wonder if Kare knows that she can get sued to Kingdom Come for posting an ad like this?
***********
I’m not sure if that’s true since she’s not the owner of the property but is merely looking for roomates...
Yep. It’s all good!
Maybe the white students don’t want to live with her, either.
White students have responded by writing to each other in a cryptic code...otherwise known as cursive.
If the student holds the lease on the property and is advertising sublets based on racial requirements he is in violation of the fair housing act.
“The Fair Housing Act is a federal act in the United States intended to protect the buyer or renter of a dwelling from seller or landlord discrimination. Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.” (wiki)
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
They call themselves POCs??
Doesn’t that stand for piece of CR_P???
The best response to this is to edit it to switch the races. It points out the blindingly obvious:
“A group of white students at the Claremont Colleges in search of a roommate insist that the roommate not be a colored person.
Student Jane Whitbread posted on Facebook that white students in need of housing arrangements should reach out to either her or two other students with whom she plans to live in an off-campus house. The post states that “white people only” will be considered for this living opportunity. “I dont want to live with any colored folks,” Whitbred added.
“This is directed to protect white people, not colored people. Dont see how this is racist at all...”
“White people are allowed to create safe segregated spaces. It is not racism or discriminatory, it is self preservation. White racism no longer exists.”
“We dont want to have to tiptoe around fragile colored feelings in a space where we just want to relax and be comfortable, commented a Heterosexual Studies major. “I could live with colored people, but I would be far more comfortable living with other white people.”
“Colored people are always mad when they dont feel included but at the end of the day yall are ill-mannered and violent and if a white person feels they need to protect themselves from that toxic environment THEY CAN! Quick to try to jump on a white person but you wont call your black friends out when theyre being racist” noted a White Studies major. Im not responding to NO comments and NOPE I dont wanna have a dialogue.
It is not clear whether or not this refusal of dialogue represents the approaches to conversation on racism with fellow students encouraged by professors of White Studies at Pitzer College.
Another RA and White Student Union member added to the thread of comments, Black people have cause [sic] so much mf [sic] crime on these campuses ... why in the world would I want to live with that? Bring that into my home? A place that is supposed to be safe for me?”
