There was a time when people like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, and Erick Erickson were powerful voices within the Conservative movement. That was BT or Before Trump, when most American Conservatives were asleep at the wheel and operating on status quo neo-conservative autopilot, completely unaware that the maverick radio voices we hailed as rebels, were actually globalist shills-for-hire.
The silent majority was silent because we were napping, however, Trump has awakened the slumbering giant and were hip to the globalist trick played upon us by so-called radio conservatives, politicians, media, and pundits, who subtly pepper falsehoods like, amnesty is good, trade is fine, debt is just part of life, and nation building is patriotic throughout their schtick.
Yes, the slumber is over and the alt right is gleefully humming a tune commonly blasted at Trump rallies.
Were not gonna take it .Anymore.
One result of this awakening, is the downfall of several once powerful radio voices men whose egos are so immense and selfish that the very essence of their global schtick TRUMPED ethics, honesty, and common sense.
They all have one thing in common they each made the same mistake on the way to Irrelvence Island.
They joined NeverTrump.
Glenn Beck
Crazy Glenn Beck spent over half a million of his own dollars to try and get Ted Cruz elected. However, in the end all the money, fasting, and nazi-namecalling added up to a big fat zero. Cruz failed, NeverTrump never mattered, and Becks media empire crumbled (like a plate of crushed Cheetos).
Ben Shapiro
Once revered as the future voice of conservatism, Ben Shapiro was a beacon of hope within the conservative movement. However, everything changed for Ben when he decided to go NeverTrump and throw his career out the window to defend proven liar, Michelle Fields (see stories here, here, and here).
Erick Erickson
The moment Erick Erickson started bashing Trump two things happened. Firstly, he started resembling a thumb and secondly his career fell apart. Erickson went from being hailed as a powerful voice of conservatism to huffing and puffing all over Twitter, bitching about Trump with fellow NeverTrump dropkick Rick Wilson (another talentless hack who looks like a thumb).
Mark Levin
During the GOP primary we discovered that Mark Levin will support anyone as long as they promise to buy his dumb books. Levin went on a screaming-mimmy tirade for the last 3 months of Ted Cruzs race to loserville, bashing Trump and proudly stating he was NeverTrump. Since then, Levins ratings have tanked.
Hugh Hewitt
Hugh Hewit looks like a cross between Phil Donahue, George McFly, and Justin Bieber. His claim to fame was trying to trip Tump up with a gotcha question about some preposterously unknown faction of the Iraqi Army. Since then hes spent his time on the radio looking for ways to help Hillary and losing listeners.
Honorable mentions go to Rush Limbaugh and Dana Loesch. Rush has never gone full dumbo and declared himself NeverTrump, although his actions have us wondering. On the other hand, dopey Dana claims shes not a NeverTrumper (she is) however, she warns us that mean Trump supporters may push her there.
Right. Well I listen to Rush. He’s smart. Smart enough to not go in full anti Trump
You should listen to him. Especially if you want to argue about him for 30 minutes
My Jack Nicholson imitation:
‘You can’t handle the truth.’
Depend upon it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.
-Samuel Johnson
From someone who doesn’t listen to tge show he’s arguing about. Get off the subject.
Or the quote from “Wall Street”...
“Man looks in the abyss, there’s nothing staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss.”
High Time we weed out the herd. These jokers have been skating on their lukewarm Conservative views. The RINOs must Go! The GOPe—Vichy Republicans must be cast out of power.
I loved Dana. She started here in St. Louis on 97.1 FM. She left St. Louis and moved to Texas to work for Glen Beck’s media. That was the worst thing she could have ever done. She had to twist herself into a pretzel to support Glen’s views and be true to her own values. It was quite depressing to watch. I hope she comes back to her senses.
My original post was to auntb not to you.
So you get off the subject and stop interfering.
Indeed.
“Right. Well I listen to Rush. Hes smart. Smart enough to not go in full anti Trump”
The undercurrent is there.
I think it was Friday that he let some flaming idiot on the program who was insisting that the Trump candidacy was all some kind of set-up, worked out with Hillary Clinton, to allow her to run.
After a while, the guy’s conspiracy theory nonsense became a little much for Rush, but he just let him go on and on anyway.
Compared to this, how many pro-Trump callers have gotten through and been allowed to talk for that length of time? If they get in at all, Rush usually cuts them off, claims he has “run out of time” and then never returns to whatever point they were trying to make.
The show’s better than it was before the convention. At least he’s no longer having wet dreams of Ted Cruz riding in on a white horse and “the ideal conservative” saving the world from the horrors of making America great again, but it’s obvious (to me, at least) that Rush is FAR more anti-Clinton than he is pro-Trump.
And it’s obvious he’s trying to keep all that hidden, too.
When Hannity comes on, I feel like I’ve been thrown back into the real world, and it’s a breath of fresh air.
“allow her to run” should be “allow her to win”. I really should start reading my own posts sometime, before posting them.
I think there is a personal element. A little Palm Beach rivalry, private jet size envy?, golf, and so on. Rush is proud of his massive audience and maybe is a little jealous that Trump the "barbarian" (non-intellectual, no political experience) put together a movement. Lastly, they both have big egos -- I say that in a positive way. Nothing wrong with it. But maybe they clash.
During some fast talking the other day, Limbaugh said “Trump was stupid for lying about the video.” (He really did not lie). Has Limbaugh ever accused the witch of being stupid? Obama? Boehner?
Rush is kind of sly about his weak support of Trump.
Rush will read something negative from the media and repeat it over and over. And not just 2 or 3 times, but more like 7 or 8 times.
Then he will say, ‘I didn’t say it, the media did. I was just reporting it.’
Fair point, Stanne.
I am up here in the liberal Northeast, and illegal immigration and terrorism are the only issues that I see getting through to a number of female liberal friends of mine. They particularly don’t tend to like Trump’s insults and and style, but there’s actually little that they fundamentally disagree with on his top issues.
Done right, Trump IMO could win over a number of educated (which means especially indoctrinated and peer pressured), long-time Democrat women for the GOP.
Sorry but Hewitt is all in for Hillary except making the endorsement. Worse, he is for all the globalist so in the GOPe.
Agreed, great description of Rush's current tactic.
“Rush will read something negative from the media and repeat it over and over. And not just 2 or 3 times, but more like 7 or 8 times.
Then he will say, I didnt say it, the media did. I was just reporting it.”
I have noticed that too. He will very carefully recount what is being said by his friends, if it is negative, about Trump. And he still allows Cruz-bots on and gives them all the time he can.
Eric Erickson is the most hated man in Atlanta radio now. While the station, WSB, has found it necessary to trumpet he is #1 in his time slot, its about as believable as the local newspaper proclaiming that Hillary is ahead of Trump in Georgia. I sent a message to Erickson’s advertisers, I listen to him as much as I can stomach and hit the music button when the endless ads come on. Your ad money goes right out my car window.
