Donald Trump has come under fire for his praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his ties to the country--and he suggested Sunday that he might recognize Russia's control of Crimea.
"You know, the people of Crimea, from what I've heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were," he said on ABC's "This Week." "And you have to look at that, also. Now, that was under -- just so you understand, that was done under Obama's administration. ... Crimea has been taken. Don't blame Donald Trump for that."
Trump made those comments just after saying Putin is "not going into Ukraine."
"Well, look, you know, I have my own ideas. He's not going into Ukraine, OK?" Trump said of Putin. "Just so you understand. He's not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down and you can put it down, you can take it anywhere you want."

No, he was not Ukrainian, he was ethnic Russian, born near the border with Ukraine, but he did serve as Stalin’s boss in the Ukraine.
The Ukraine gave up on its nukes only because “the West” promised protection against the Russian commies. Where is that protection? Ukrainians were thrown under the bus by Obama’s timid treacherous policies. Trump is now openly supporting Russia. wtf
“That said, Trump needs to shut up and stop saying stupid things.”
This is obviously not an ideal time for him to be discussing Russia, but Trump is of course 100% correct. What he said is the only intelligent course to take. It would be pure insanity to start a war with highly nuclearized Russia to force the ethnic Russians of the Crimea to remain under Ukrainian control against their will, even though the Crimea was part of Russia for centuries longer than it was a part of the Ukraine and it was taken away from Russia in the 1950s without the consent of the locals.
When did it become acceptable to potentially put millions of American lives in danger in order to crush the democratic will of foreign people when it is irrelevant to our own interests and safety? That’s the stupid—and extremely dangerous—idea in my opinion.
Surely you must have an opinion.
Below is a video from 2008 of Putin saying Crimea is Ukrainian and Russia does not have any territorial claims. He even does this bit where he gesticulates dramatically, talks very firmly and looks very honest and presidential.

I will do so in this case
There is a reason the majority of people of Crimea do not want to be part of Ukraine and its “democratic” government
Misleading headline by the MSM, as usual.

CQ Roger Stone?
“Eating shoots and leaves is a fine oriental diet.”
Thanks for making my point.

Ah, historical perspective: there is no substitute.
Bugger off now. Your shelf life has expired.
Come back when you have something meaningful to say.
“Come back when you have something meaningful to say.”
What does it say about so many people that they would rather persist in error than accept a friendly correction, that they react to any mention of an error with anger?
I’ll go ahead and stop trying to help now.
I don’t need your kind o’ help buckwheat.
NO one who has seen that graphic that you had to pounce on like a grammar jihadist has had an issue with it.
Guess you’ll just have to live with being so infinitely superior to the rest of us.
For God’s sake, get a life ok?
Crimea was a part of Russia until after WWII. It was changed in the end of Stalin’s time or the beginning of Khrushchev’s time.
Why hasn’t Obama who has been in office gotten Crimea back for the Ukraine? What is Hillary going to do? Use military force. If it’s true that the majority of people in Crimea want to be with Russia (I have no idea), shouldn’t they get to decide?
Isn’t that a lie? Trump acknowledged in that interview the Crimea situation.
“I dont need your kind o help buckwheat.”
The effectiveness of everything that has an error in it is reduced significantly.
That is my motive—that and nothing else. I seek only to advantage the conservative cause, not to aggrandize myself. If I wanted to make myself more popular, I would clam up and just let people walk around with shirt wienies all unawares.
In the time of Catherine the Great. Maybe we would like to return New Amsterdam to the Dutch.
How did we ever get to the point of nuclear brinkmanship over an issue that was settled 300 years ago.
Really? What kind of precedent does that set for the former Soviet Republics? Remember Sudetenland and Hitler?
I guess if Southern California decided join Mexico, you would be cool with that.
