Recorded voicemails were added to the Wikileaks file collection for the DNC.
if the DNC used a VoIP (voice over IP) system, ALL of their conversations on the system are digital files and could be part of a hack. This wouldn't cover cell conversations, but would cover any phone calls taking place from the office.
HuffPo suggested a couple days ago this could be, "Bigger Than Watergate."
Indeed, it could.
If what we've seen already in emails comprises the type of communications typical of the DNC, might make for some entertaining listening.
Think of who might have called the DNC as well over the course of the one year they were hacked. Hillary, perhaps?
Does anyone with tech knowledge know if you can have digital file voicemails but not have a VoIP?
No. Phone calls are real-time communications and not stored as files. They would have to hack into the central VoIP servers to listen in on conversations. Possible but not easy. Voice mails are stored. Email and voice mail are usually separate systems. But if they could hack an email system they could likely hack the other systems.
LOL! You vely funny Amelican.
The recent voicemail WikiLeaks drop was absolutely worthless in my opinion. So why did they release it? Perhaps just to make the DNC sweat bullets of what else they may have?
‘Bigger than Watergate’ ... So, a 2016 IP version of Watergate. Possibly an electronic ‘breaking’ of RNC Headquarters. In other words... DNC forwarding, passing around, VoIP recordings THEY stole off of RNC systems...
You can access VM via old services like DISA or any number of methods.
VoIP is all about the transmission medium where you use your Internet service to send and receive telephone calls. Interestingly enough, this is what your telephone company does with your calls anyway. The difference is where the data stream gets digitized.
The big question is whether the DNC recorded all their calls or not. If they did this could be the political equivalent of planting Eucalyptus all over the hills in Southern California. They are very useful for holding hills in a dry environment. But when they burn, they burn BIG and spread fast.
"Ceterum censeo Hillary esse delendam."

Yep...
To make donors scare of DNC.
They may have been using Google voice. It converts voicemails to emails with attached audio files and text copy (voice to text is shaky on this system).
As the Dems like free stuff (like Yahoo mail they used) I can see them using free phone numbers and voicemails in their email inbox.
I know how they are transmitted and stored.
I’ve been in telecom since we broke up the phone company.
Most likely using hosted voip provider where most VM is sent by default to the registered users email acct
As FRs professional telecom guy, VOIP is pretty standard, and folks don’t realize the downside of hack potential because once someone gets your IP layout could be spoofed.
The big question is whether the DNC recorded all their calls or not.
That’s an interesting point.
I know that Financial Services companies, traders in particular, are required by law to record ALL their conversations.
I can’t imagine political parties subjecting themselves to this requirement for obvious reasons.
Not sure of yhe HuffPo context. Are they accusing wikileaks of being a couple of guys breaking in to the Watergate? Or...to the corruption uncovered?
>>>”To make donors scare of DNC.”
Yes, I think that’s part of it.
According to the ABC report:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lXk4E_LS33Q&feature=youtu.be
Donor names/addresses/SSN were released.
It also bumps the story again and ABC - yes ABC - framed this news into a pay-for-play story. And showed a DNC operative at a VIP bash as “too embarrassed” to talk to us.
Fox News was interviewing a Democrat spokeshole this afternoon who tried to run with the “Watergate” meme. Sounds desperate to me, but then, the ‘Rats should be desperate with all of their corruption exposed like this.
But if the media can throw some shade on the Republicans, “Watergate!!!”, you can bet they will.
The term "dirty tricks" has been underused in this campaign.
thanx ... a lot of junk so far (about 5 or 6)
Zactly.
I have to teach my customers how not Self implode.
I even develop plans about “Who” should be authorized to forward emails as a matter of security protocols.
Given Hilary’s involvement in watergate, it would be quite ironic her own scandals would be regarded as bigger than that.
