Last week the news networks did blockbuster ratings. How big? Lets break it down in a couple ways.
During the four days of the Republican National Convention, CNN drew the most viewers overall for total day (6am-6am).
Total Day Live +Same Day viewing, July 18-21: CNN: 44,754,000 Fox News: 41,519,000 MSNBC: 28,943,000
Meanwhile, Fox News Channel was the most-watched cable channel in prime time for the full 7-day week in both total viewers and in the A25-54 demo. The channel was also number one in total day viewing among total viewers and No. 2 in the A25-54 demo.

Im on antenna. The RNC was carried by NBC late in the evening. The DNC was covered by NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX broke away from local news for a portion of it.
But theres no media bias, right?
Me too.
Oh, my bad.
Its because we are idiots and like to see both sides, whereas our DEM friends wouldn’t dare... they couldn’t do it! So we bump ratings, big deal. If we didn’t, the media would paint a beautiful story of a disastrous event so far!
Fox news was unwatchable for me and CNN wasn’t much better. However, I finally tuned in to Fox Business and Dobbs was doing a very good job. C-Span needs to upgrade their video quality...I like the absence of the minute by minute talking heads, but the pic is so horrible I can’t watch it very long.
Try Fox Business channel. Lou Dobbs is clearly on our side.
Ditto
I am the complete opposite of a tech-savvy person, but I wold assume it is quite easy these days with cable and satellite TV to tally up how many sets are tuned to a station at any given time.
No, they are not, but they do not claim to be, from what I can see. FAUX News, on the other hand, likes to pretend that it leans right.
CSPAN was a bad picture, but Direct 347 was HD and excellent uninterrupted coverage.
Exactly ... every time I tuned into Fox there were talking heads talking over the speeches. I don’t want to be told what was said, I want to hear it for myself. If a speech is so bloody boring that I tune out ... well, that is my decision, but I don’t want the networks deciding what I do and do not get to listen to.
It’s the libs convention, CNN has a lib audience.
Conservatives who watch fox didn’t care to watch a lib convention.
Case closed.
“I wonder if they’ll report the dems numbers when it’s over. I haven’t even watched the wrap up of the previous night. LOL. Not interested in seeing a bunch of whiners and haters.”
Here are last night’s numbers for the Dems:
CNN: 6.29 million viewers
MSNBC: 4.64 million
NBC: 4.29 million
ABC: 4.11 million
Fox News: 3.33 million
CBS: 3.11 million
“The opening night of the Democratic National Convention drew ratings above the first night of the Republican convention last week and from the 2012 DNC opener, though comparisons to the latter arent entirely apples to apples.
About 25.9 million people 25.87 million, to be more precise tuned into the 10 p.m. ET coverage on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. Thats up from 22.53 million on those channels for the RNC last Monday.
Combined ratings in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (8.5 vs. 6.2) and adults 18-49 (6.5 vs. 4.4) were also up.
CNN had the biggest audience of the night with 6.29 million viewers, a 2.4 in adults 25-54 and a 2.0 in adults 18-49. MSNBC (4.64 million, 1.6, 1.2) edged out its broadcast counterpart NBC (4.29 million, 1.5, 1.1) for second.
Compared to the 2012 convention, Mondays numbers were also up 21.93 million watched the opening night then. However, the Democrats staged a three-day convention four years ago with the first night airing on a Tuesday.”

Thank you!! I have Directv, but wasn’t aware of that option.
Case is hardly closed.
The jurno was referring to the RNC, NOT the DNC.
FOX has far too many compulsive yip yappers who never shut the hell up, starting w/Bill O’Boloney and Scatterbrain Hannity.
Only a matter of time before their audience starts fading. The claim that it’s the only “conservative” site on tv is absolute malarkey. If you gave every talking head at the network 13 guesses; collectively they couldn’t articulate a solitary Conservative Principle.
Murdoch/Fox is total R establishment and has been from day one. People watch because of the babes and hardly the the blather.
For the DNC HD is not a very good option. Like watching the Star Wars bar scene only not as attractive.
