A tumultuous first day of the Democratic National Convention is in the books. I watched, tweeted and, candidly, ate and drank. (I mean, it was a long day.)
My take on the best and worst of the night that was is below.
Winners
* Michelle Obama: An absolute home run. Period. It will be difficult for anyone in the next three days to deliver a better speech than the first lady did on Monday night. She used her personal story of raising two young African American girls in the White House to tie her husband's history-making presidency to the history-making bid of Hillary Clinton. She was poised, calm and convincing. When she teared up talking about what it would mean to her, Malia and Sasha to see a woman elected president, it was an instantly memorable moment.
Remember this, too: Michelle Obama is not a politician. She has not run for any office — yet. It is not easy to get up and deliver a heartfelt, effective speech in front of a bunch of rowdy delegates and millions of people watching at home. Michelle Obama did it with an ease that suggests she may not be on the sidelines of the political game for much longer.

Ironic to hear the woman who once commented how she was proud of her country for the first time when her queer/Muslim/America-hating/community organizer was elected President, telling us to not let anyone tell you that America ain’t great....

Jellobrand said something in her earlier speech (which was mostly full of nothing). She said that Hillary is a working mom (present tense) and then named her two wonderful grandchildren. I assume she meant that Hillary is a working grandmother.
There would be problems as he has five white children.

Warren went on a litany of what’s wrong with America, and how Hillary is going to fix it, when it’s their own Socialist policies that have caused the problems in the first place. Then she has the nerve to say Republicans stopped everything Democrats wanted to do, when we all know they had both the house and the senate, and when they didn’t, they had the cowardly Boehner and now Ryan who gave them everything they wanted. I’m old enough to remember the Amos n’ Andy radio shows from the 40’s. Sapphire’s voice was projected to grate on one’s ears....much like the African Obama is supposedly ‘welded’ to.
I saw multiple reports and video of Bernie signs being taken from people, as if removing the signs removes the protest. Was great to hear the chants come over almost every speaker. Too bad Bernie pooped out, he could have accomplished so much more. I wonder if he was more a political statement than a ‘want to be president’ person anyway.
They have to find one positive note out of yesterday’s disaster.
Bernie typifies the Damnocrat Party. He is a communist who spent his honeymoon in Stalin’s Moscow! His and Hillary’s types are out to destroy by burning up all the wealth so that 99% of the population lives in abject poverty while the 1% live like royalty.
This Party is subversive and so anti-America as to be dangerous to our health.
Angry black women cannot be elected on a national ticket.
Every single one of these people will be put to death for treason in the next two years, so they all seem like losers to me. They’ll be even bigger losers once they’re roasting in the Lake of Fire.
