A tumultuous first day of the Democratic National Convention is in the books. I watched, tweeted and, candidly, ate and drank. (I mean, it was a long day.)
My take on the best and worst of the night that was is below.
Winners
* Michelle Obama: An absolute home run. Period. It will be difficult for anyone in the next three days to deliver a better speech than the first lady did on Monday night. She used her personal story of raising two young African American girls in the White House to tie her husband's history-making presidency to the history-making bid of Hillary Clinton. She was poised, calm and convincing. When she teared up talking about what it would mean to her, Malia and Sasha to see a woman elected president, it was an instantly memorable moment.
Remember this, too: Michelle Obama is not a politician. She has not run for any office yet. It is not easy to get up and deliver a heartfelt, effective speech in front of a bunch of rowdy delegates and millions of people watching at home. Michelle Obama did it with an ease that suggests she may not be on the sidelines of the political game for much longer.

Marc McDonald · Sinclair Community College:
LMAO! What a pure BS article! Getting massive boos makes one a winner? Being a caught red handed liar is being a winner? Pushing anti American policies and defying the law itself is being a winner?
WTH is wrong with these people?!
To answer Marc's question, they are mostly insane Communists, homosexuals, lesbians, girly men, water buffalos, weasels, apes and unwashed, tattooed welfare recipients and, generally, throw away excuses for human beings.
Personally, I found the whole thing rather dark and foreboding.
I was watching several “man on the street” interviews. Those Dems are mentally ill. One woman who is for legalizing pot just went off in the babbling speech about taking “you all down”.
>>She used her personal story of raising two young African American girls in the White House
She used her personal story of raising two young Wealthy 1%er girls in the White House
Fixed it.
PBS cut away from Booker’s speech. I thought this was his national coming out speech a la Obama in 2004.
It was not that good.
They stayed on Warren for the whole speech. Maybe she is the one being groomed.
Winner: Everyone who invests in whatever company makes Maalox
Loser: All of the attendees / speaker in the Philly convention hall
Dark.
The bottom line is leftists really don’t particularly care for black people. Obama has served his purpose, the plantation workers have been fed, and they have another agenda to pursue.
+1
Poor things. What a story of deprivation and oppression that must be.
I just wonder how the press would have reacted if
Trump had said, “My two white children”.
Mrs. Trump and the Trump kids are not professional politicians either. They ran circles around MO. She is a HATER and should be relagated to the Chicago scum where she came from.
you left out queers
I forgot Africans.
From the sound of it, you’d think she was having to raise the two girls in the midst of “Buttermilk Bottom” with a couple no-good baby daddies come sniffin’round on Satiday night.
Geez....
This message brought to you by your friends at the DNC.
I think that you are on to something there.... whatever hitlery says on Thursday night, we should all pound on and shout out the word "DARK" to describe it. Like the entire media after Trump's speech, the use of the word should be immediate, loud, often and repetive.....
Mrs. Obozo reminds me of George Kingfish Stevens’ wife Sapphire.
