The political conventions seem to birth new political stars every four years and this years Republican National Convention was no different. In 2004, a virtually unknown senator from Chicago gave an electric speech at the Democratic National Convention that thrust him into the international spotlight and set him on a path to the White House. That man was President Barack Obama. This years GOP convention didnt just produce a new rising star -- it birthed a whole dynasty of superstars. The world now knows why political pundits have been calling Donald Trumps family members his secret weapon. Trumps wife and children all hit the proverbial ball out of the park with dynamite speeches that set the perfect stage for the GOP nominee to hit a home run on the conventions final night. Donald Trump didnt just hit a home run; he hit a grand slam, and he could not have done it without his family by his side. The Trumps have entered a new league -- theyve just become American royalty. Heres how the Trump family became the new Camelot in just four days.
The world waited with great anticipation to see how a Slovenian born woman -- who speaks English as her second language and prefers to be a stay-at-home mother -- would pull off a primetime speech to kick off the convention on night one. If imitation is the highest form of flattery, Melania Trump gets an A plus. Melania delivered a heartfelt speech that proved shes a woman that has both brains and beauty and it made her an instant style icon. The elegant Roksanda Margot dress she wore during her speech sold out within hours. Fashion critics are comparing her to Jackie O and Kate Middleton and shes caused a mania in the fashion world.
While most 22-year-olds are looking for the best party in town or hiding in their safe spaces on college campuses, Tiffany Trump found herself center stage at the ultimate political party. The recent college graduate was the first Trump child to speak at the convention. She admitted she was nervous since shes never given a speech outside of a classroom; however, you never wouldve known if she didnt mention it. The young beauty wowed the crowd and she even received praise from some of her fathers harshest critics such as Megan McCain.
On night two during Donald Trump Jr.s speech, I couldnt help but notice the striking similarities between him and the late John F. Kennedy Jr. Just like JFK Jr., Donald Jr. is a brilliant speaker, good looking, charismatic and also a savvy businessman from New York City. Not only does he share the same name as his famous father just as JFK Jr. did, theres a striking resemblance in their appearances too. After Donald Jr.s speech, I posted on my social media pages that conservatives finally have their very own JFK Jr. Immediately my social media sites exploded and many people told me they were thinking the same thing. Even some of my liberal friends went gaga for Donald Jr. His fans are calling for him to run for president in 2024 and others even coined JFK Jr.-inspired nicknames for him such as Don Don. Theres no question Donald Trump Jr. has a bright future in politics if he ever chooses to run for office.
On Wednesday night, Trumps middle son, Eric, took the stage and quickly became the most searched speaker of the night on Google. During his speech, Eric talked about his fathers passion for helping others, a trait hes inherited from him. Similar to how Prince William and Prince Harry have carried on Princess Dianas philanthropic legacy through their own charity organizations, Eric has put his money where his mouth is as well. He founded the Eric Trump Foundation -- a charity that gives money to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital and said during his speech that there are few things that he holds closer to his heart than charity.
I got the chance to do a one-on-one interview with Ivanka Trump several years ago and Ive had a girl crush on her ever since. On Thursday night, the rest of the world learned what I already knew about her. Ivanka has what all women want: beauty, success, grace and intelligence. She somehow manages to juggle a powerful career while raising three young kids and she still finds the time to hit the campaign trail for her dad even when shes nine months pregnant. (In heels from her very own shoe line, no less!) Shes such a unique powerhouse woman. It's hard to find someone from any political dynasty to compare her to. However, after all her rave reviews, one things for sure: if she ever ran for president, theres no doubt more women would stand with her.
The kind of old school class we saw on display from the Trump family during convention week was reminiscent of the days of John F. Kennedys presidency. Its seems that the Trumps star power and grace has caused us to delete all of the cringe-worthy moments from Donald Trumps campaign from our memories faster than Hillary Clinton can wipe a server clean. Jackie Kennedy didnt believe there would ever be another Camelot. She was wrong. Americas new Royal Family has arrived.
Here's something I just found out, that makes me think that Lyndon Johnson was responsible for Kennedy's assassination:
-Johnson found out three days before that he was getting dumped from the 1964 ticket for Terry Sanford of North Carolina. From the wikipedia bio of Terry Sanford:
Governor Sanford was a close political ally of President John F. Kennedy, a fact that disturbed some North Carolina Democrats who were suspicious of Kennedy's Catholicism.[15] According to President Kennedy's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln, Sanford would have been Kennedy's choice for vice president on the 1964 Democratic ticket, had Kennedy lived. In her 1968 book Kennedy and Johnson she reported that President Kennedy told her that Lyndon B. Johnson would be replaced as Vice President. Lincoln wrote of that November 19, 1963, conversation just three days before Kennedy's assassination:[6][16]
As Mr. Kennedy sat in the rocker in my office, his head resting on its back he placed his left leg across his right knee. He rocked slightly as he talked. In a slow pensive voice he said to me, 'You know if I am re-elected in sixty-four, I am going to spend more and more time toward making government service an honorable career. I would like to tailor the executive and legislative branches of government so that they can keep up with the tremendous strides and progress being made in other fields ... I am going to advocate changing some of the outmoded rules and regulations in the Congress, such as the seniority rule. To do this I will need as a running mate in sixty-four a man who believes as I do.' ... I was fascinated by this conversation and wrote it down verbatim in my diary. Now I asked, ... 'Who is your choice as a running-mate?' He looked straight ahead, and without hesitating he replied, 'At this time I am thinking about Governor Terry Sanford of North Carolina. But it will not be Lyndon.'
Agree 100%. Ivanka's role model, as far as womanhood goes, is her mother. Ivana Trump was a powerhouse when she was married to Donald.
Or the Kennedys.
Marla Maples, Tiffany’s mother, was at the convention during Tiffany’s speech but stayed low key.
Kas,
While I appreciate your posting the article, I’ll just disagree with the premise of it.
No, they’re not “Camelot”; they’re just real Americans, who understand what the American Dream really means, and how to achieve it. Sired by a good Man and Father who saw better things for himself and his future and went after them with drive, determination, and ambition.
And that alone is praise-worthy and cause for applause.
As one Freeper put it (wish I remembered who) - “Trump’s just like me... but with a whole lot more money”
I think it would have been hoot if they had of made it a complete sweep of Trump speakers and had Baron up..... even if it was to introduce his Mom with a “please welcome the greatest Mom in the world” 15 second speech.
And I neglected to mention Melania, who will be a very stylish and capable first lady, much better than Bill Clinton.
No Clinton scum in the white house! It would be great if Trump banned them from ever setting foot on the grounds, when he is President! She better visit now, while she can!
IIRC....Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country....was plagiarism. Hope my memory is right on this.
Ted Sorenson, Arthur Schlesinger, White—all the scribes who ghost-wrote Kennedy’s books ... made up `Camelot’ out of whole cloth after the fact.
Precisely. The Trumps are real. Camelot was mythology, a polite term for BS.
If you raise a great kid, you didn’t raise that.
I am so looking forward to watching this beautiful family the next 8 years, Lord willing.
They are respectful, articulate, passionate and fun!
It will almost erase the embarrassment/hurt of Michelle’s harsh words and attitude.
Honeymooned in NYC in November 1962 and saw Camelot on Broadway. Awesome.
This is not a diss..its an observation. ..
barron is at an awkward stage and appears to get quite surly.watch him at the end of the convention.. when his dads hands are rubbing his arms..he makes a face and shrugs him off..when he walks he lumbers..probably due to growing so tall do fast..
He has some growing up to do...and it will be in the public eye.
Louis XIV and Henri Quatre changed the world. and Napoleon left a lot of good behind as well.
I’m glad my dad sat me down and told me about bootleg Kennedy and the real John Kennedy.
Baron looked pretty tired. That’s a lot of stress for a young man who appears relatively shy.
Which will make it difficult for him to grow up and not be scrutinized....much more than Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka or Tiffany. I hope there are plans to keep him “protected” during these next 8 years. OTOH, I believe Donald does not do anything without being fairly confident of the outcome.
