The Nuclear Option: Ted Cruz Loves Himself More Than Our Country
Breitbart.com ^ | July 21, 2016 | Charles Hurt

CLEVELAND — In the end, it was all about Ted Cruz. Delivering an unvetted speech before the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, Ted Cruz — as is always his custom — carefully calculated just how to do it so it would benefit himself the most. And it backfired.

As bad as it is that Cruz did not endorse Trump, wouldn’t he have an even more compromised image in the future if he supported someone who had publicly attacked his wife and father?

Did you not hear address what Cruz said? Gingrich did. If the criteria that Cruz set out when he said vote your conscience didn't describe Trump and only Trump, then all the booing on demand Trump supporters are the problem. Gingrich was right about that. Trump had. Cruz's speech and exploited it. It was a Trump hit. But don't worry, wait till he gets to Hillary.

what amazes me is that so many Trump supporters do not know his MO and continue to pound his opponent's after he's finished them. Seriously, you know this right?

I'm off of the Cruz ship for good now.

I agreed with Gingrich but, I wanted more from Ted.
I supported him. I argued with all sorts of nasty Trumpster's until the point where Cruz started to run for the office of ‘not Trump’ and the long painful slide into political oblivion. I had to endure watching his destruction and I held out hope and supported him quietly until he dropped out. I had hope for his redemption as staunch principled conservative last night and he fell quite short. Now I'm done.
I will agree it's time to move on to Hillary.
My desire to disagree with you is satisfied now. And, I should add that I think you are decent and salient but expect people to read between the lines too much. You have to be plain and clear in this day.

Cruz figured no one would care if he didn’t endorse Trump.

He was surprised to discover people actually cared.

And that’s when it all went downhill for him.

I wish there was a photo of his droopy phiz at the moment he realized Sheldon Adelson’s door was closed to him.

“Do I really have to say it?”

No, but I don’t think Felito’s feeble treachery is so directly aimed at assisting HER, as it is him being an expendable asset of the globalists. He has had his marching orders for some time, perhaps as early as the sit down with Yeb. And of course, the globalist hive can make sure his landing is soft as, like Lucifer, he falls to the earth.

“BUT NOT AFTER THIS MORNING with the TX delegates. It went disastrous for him.”

I’m not familiar with what happened. Is there an article out there?

I loved the backhanded slap one gal gave him last night - forget who she was but she added a short bit about “those who nursing hurt feelings. She said it with a glint in her eye and it was obvious she was mocking the guy with the maturity of a 5th grader....

(Sorry to get back to you.)

There are several threads that Cruz (on CNN) complained about ‘rabid’ Trump supporters; Cruz stated his main reason for not endorsing Trump and that he “won’t be ‘servile puppy dog’ to Trump” talking to TX delegates.

As in this article said, Cruz’ hurt feelings (about his wife and his father) trumped his sense of Country First.

And other Cruz supporters claimed he congratulated Trump, he laid out all the reasons to defeat Hillary, so it is no big deal Cruz not formally endorse Trump. And that’s good enough for them. Poppycock! These same Cruz supporters cheer Comey’s non-indictment, it is the same.

Interesting enough - but there are some people who call themselves conservatives who are full of admiration for what Ted Cruz did. A lot of them may be keeping their heads down right now, but they are there.

What principles was Ted standing up for in these people's minds. I have no idea what Ted has his panties all in a twist for. What exactly does Trump stand for in his mind, that he wouldn't offer his support to the nominee of the party?

Hannity pointed out that the Republican platform is the most conservative platform put together in a long time. So where's the beef? If you thought that Trump was so dangerous at some point during the campaign why didn't you tear up your pledge shortly after you realized it? Why did you let it go all the way to your speech and then say your signed deal to support the party nominee is in no way binding? Because of what was said about your wife and father? Really? You would let Clinton win because the guy supposedly dissed your family?

I can see why you didn't tear up the pledge. As a typical politician you thought you were going to win this and you wanted to be able hold the pledge over the rest of the field. Then by the time you realized you were going to lose it was too late you were stuck with the pledge on yourself.

Are you that thin skinned that when something is said about your wife and father you can never recover from that? No one was asking you to be buddy buddy with Trump, no one was asking you to campaign for him. All you had to say is I support him to be the next President of the United States. Boom done. You don't have to agree with everything they guy says or does. No one was asking you to.

Who is advising this guy? The lack of judgement is incredible.

I’m still waiting for Ted the lyin’ lawyer to point out the, “personal insult,” exception in the pledge he signed.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. Alerted by your summary, I spent some pleasant time catching up! I was unaware of those pitiful 9but malicious) rearguard actions and would not have known but for your reference to them.

>Did ya ever see Cruz, circa college age video, of him standing in front of a camera saying he would be leader of the world someday?

Cruz spent his entire life dreaming that someday thousands of people would be chanting his name. Little did they realize they’d be chanting Lyin’ Ted.

No. He did come to our area once and we tried to go, but it was too packed by the time we arrived. Having seen him many times on TV, I simply can’t stand the man. He is unctuous and phony.
