CLEVELAND In the end, it was all about Ted Cruz. Delivering an unvetted speech before the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, Ted Cruz as is always his custom carefully calculated just how to do it so it would benefit himself the most. And it backfired.

I think there are various indications that he changed it. If so, it may never come out, as Trump will never expose it. That would be out of character.
Ted has that happy place inside his head, where he's the Savior of the World, and everyone bows to him. His eyes glaze over and a little smile creeps up.
Heidi says he goes there often, sitting still, all by himself in his comfy chair.
All this Cruz this is Cruz that is BS, Trump was always at least 2 moves ahead of him. He beat the crap out of Cruz and destroyed him for opposing him.
Well, honoring a written pledge is not the same as kissing someone’s behind. You have to swallow your pride and do it.
He didn’t. He is a dishonorable oath breaker because of it.
One example of how to do it right is the Viking Rollo, when he was demanded to kiss Charlemagne’s foot (or some French king) as sign of fealty to stop a war and keep his conquered lands in Normandy.
Rollo walked to the King, who was sitting, grabbed the King’s foot and lifted it all the way up to his lips to kiss it, at the same time tilting the king’s chair and making the King fall backwards.
Job done. The king’s foot was kissed, and he came through without losing his self-respect or the respect of his followers.
But he DID keep his promise and kissed the King’s foot, without coming through as a weasel. It resulted in a lasting peace.
They are ways to keep your self-respect and not break a pledge at the same time, too bad Cruz could not find one.
The “Ted Tone”?
Romney said his conscience wouldn't let him vote for Trump. Ryan was telling Republicans to "vote their conscience." So were Kasich and numerous editorial writers.
The phrase may have been a negative "dog whistle" for the delegates who took it to mean "Don't vote for Trump."
Reagan's 1976 speech wasn't a ringing endorsement of Gerald Ford, but he did say the party had to stick together, and that was enough. If Ted had put it that way, the reaction would have been weaker and milder.
Cruz the Yipper Dog. /spit
“I really dont think it was Teds plan for him to be booed off the stage.
He thought he would be cheered for sticking to his principles.
I bet Glenn Beck was cheering.
Trump's the master and demands fealty. He has a long history of this. He could of had his minions accept the speech like Gingrich did and unite the party. But instead used it to divide the party and force submission.
That pretty much sums up my view, as well.
“The phrase may have been a negative “dog whistle” for the delegates who took it to mean “Don’t vote for Trump.”
That’s how I took it.
He may have been swayed by the original cheering by those who thought he was there to endorse. The wild waving of the Texans’ hats etc. It was like he hadn’t been there for all the enthusiasm and thought his folks were the only ones there. Tin ear.
The speech itself was a blatherfest about nothing. 22 minutes of wasted airtime. They ought to send Cruz a bill. The only good thing about it was watching the backstabbing little weasel get booed off the stage.
Kind of seems that way doesn’t it? Sad. He could have been a real leader.
And most of are glad he did. How about joining the effort to save the Republic fro Queen Hillary?
The latest from CNN..Dana Bash...Some Cruz delegates are going to vocally endorse Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson
on the convention floor.
“He could have been a real leader.”
That’s not a word that will ever be used to describe him now...I ran out of adjectives for him, but thankfully Ann Coulter came to the rescue:
Rubio comes out and as tepid as it may be, does endorses Donald Trump. Its Cruz who is a little bitch who cant get over it.
