Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine has emerged as the clear favorite a day before Hillary Clinton is expected to announce her running mate.
Clinton confidants and allies believe Kaine is the leading contender. And some top allies have recommended that Clinton pick the Virginia Democrat.
“I would bet all my chips on Kaine,” one confidant of Clinton said on Thursday.
Kaine has long been seen as a favorite to be Clinton’s running mate, though a number of other names have made the cut.

It looks like there’s a lot of controversy about Tim Kaine and coal. He was for it, then against it, or vice versa. Not sure he and Hillary are on the same page. But he’ll adapt if he wants the nod.
Don’t forget that VA just enfranchised a few hundred thousand felons.
Guess she wants to carry the Old Dominion. Kaine is about as well known outside VA as Pence is outside IN. Kaine has the advantage of speaking fluent Spanish and comes across as a moderate Dem (yeah, I know, an oxymoron).

Among the gifts was the use of James B. Murray Jr.’s vacation home in the Caribbean valued at $18,000. Murray is a former business partner of Kaine’s Senate colleague Mark Warner. He offered up the house after Kaine won his gubernatorial race in 2005.The same thing McDonnell was sentenced to 2 yrs in prison for.
The Tim Kaine whose crowning achievement as Lieutenant Governor was supporting the largest tax increase in Virginia history,When he was in charge of the Richmond Public School System, he oversaw the second-worst performing school system in the entire Commonwealth.
He used taxpayer dollars to send anti-gun marchers to a Washington D.C. anti-gun rally, and only paid them back after questions were raised by the press.
