Cruz's rebuke ignited a hot scene around the senator as soon as he left the stage. People averted their eyes from Cruz and his wife as they walked with their security detail on the skybox level of boisterous Republicans.
On the donor suite level, people approached Cruz and insulted him, a source told CNN's Dana Bash. One state party chairman reacted so angrily that he had to be restrained.
Cruz, who has long sought the support of GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson, was turned away when he tried to enter Adelson's suite.

But Reagan showed class while Ted showed *SS

I beg to differ. Trump simply afforded him the same opportunity that he had for any number of his former opponents. There was no trap. Cruz could have given a good speech and endorsed Trump, but he chose to end his career with his dumbassed mouth all by himself!
Reagan had dignity and class. Something that will always elude Cruz.

Oh they all KNEW he was a habitual liar, just like Hillary supporters, they simplly chose to ignore it. When it comes to ethics and morals, there is very little difference between Cruze and Clinton. Both will do ANYTHING to get what they want. There isn’t a penny’s worth of principle between the two of them.

What is this, Revisionist history? Gerald Ford “gave us” Jummuh Cahtah (really it was Richard Nixon). Carter “gave us” eight years of Ronald Reagan and Ronald Reagan gave us four years of George HW BOOSH
This night was for Pence and Cruz spoiled it for him.
Had he spoken Monday or Tuesday, he would just look small.
Doing it the night Pence is introduced as the V.P. Candidate magnified the deceit.
People should be talking about Pence, but they aren’t.

Reagan didn’t do what Cruz did if that’s what you are insinuating. He tried to get the Nomination but Ford Won and Reagan supported the Republican Candidate.
Reagan knew that Ford didn’t have a chance after he Pardoned Nixon. Add a sluggish Economy and that was that.

Look, this is probably going to work out fine for both Cruz and Trump. Cruz sets himself up as a brand of uncompromising christian conservative. His brand will be small but strong. Trump shows that he has the party. He has Pence. And he is setting up a difference between President of the United States and Priest of the United States.
To vote for Trump you are not voting for the perfect conservative. Instead you are voting against a corrupt government, a corrupt party and a corrupt media. Trump is breaking through a Clinton, Bush elite sham that used democracy as a show, to get 51% behind one guy.
I think Ted Cruz would have been a fine president. But I voted for Trump when I started to believe that Ted Cruz will never get the chance to be President. And I believe Trump does have the chance. Its really that. The press has done a great job tearing down conservatives. They crucified Cruz when he filibustered with stories about Green Eggs and Ham. They make him look small and mean, and sort of dorky. And unfortunately for him, I think he has reinforced this portrayal tonight.

Uncompromising on everything but his word. That he through away to help elect Hillary. That’s not a Goddly man in my book.

I’ve read things here at FR periodically through the night about Cruz and what he said. I didn’t watch him because I was afraid he’d do exactly what he did. I’d hoped he wouldn’t, but he did.
I’ve read other night - one news crew had spent 5 solid hours on plagiarism - this or that speech writer is a Democrat - One network apparently saying “Ted is a man of honor.
The ironic thing here is the bit about honor. All night long, days even, we’ve heard this “your word is your bond” thing. Is not a pledge a bond? Is it not significantly more than an invitation [to speak]?
Two men signed a pledge. One man kept it. That same man honored his invitation even though he knew it what would be said.
Who has the honor here? Conscience? Vote your conscience? I looked up the definition and it really didn’t tell me anything but that Cruz let his personal sense of whatever override his bond.

He was like Robin Ventura charging the mound against Nolan Ryan.

And he says that?!!!! after ignoring his pledge?
Clearly, a mental case and he thinks everyone is too stupid to connect the dots.

I was a bit surprised at how bland and strange and illogical his speech was.
Why would Cruz think that Republicans (and Americans in general) needed to be persuaded and schooled to desire freedom? Do people say: “I don’t want freedom”?
Then turn right around and tell people to “vote their conscience”? Their conscience would of necessity have been developed prior to his speech.
The real disappointing thing is that Cruz proved last night that his ego and ambition is more important to him than all those principles and that constitution he claims to support. He took what could’ve been a slam dunk message of unity one that would’ve made him a certain choice for any number of positions in a Trump admin as well as could’ve changed many minds in favor of future runs for President instead he just went stupid. The comment about the NY delegation was very low suggesting as if the only ones excited about Trump in that room were from NY which illustrates an unbelievable tone deafness on his part. I like many on FR have defended Cruz and supported him as a Hero but that was when we thought he had a bigger picture in mind instead what we found was just another Obama like figure who believes his own hype. Cruz has been told his rise was destiny from a young age and add in the over the top rhetoric of Glenn Beck basically anointing him as if he is the choice of God himself which is another unbelievable expression of arrogance.
What is really horrible is that for all the talk of the constitution and love(wtf) his decision puts at even greater risk our liberty and constitutional government. A Hillary presidency means she gets a Supreme court pick right out the gate and then over the next 4 years there is a very good chance she gets to choose at least 2 additional justices forever changing the court into one that will butcher and shred the constitution in ways that the world has never seen. Also what kind of man could hand over the well being of our military to someone like Hillary Clinton or the well being of our cops?
Ted Cruz is dead to me. He showed a level of selfishness and smallness that makes him unfit for any office.
