Ohio Gov. and former Republican presidential candidate John Kasich (R-Ohio) told an audience in Cleveland that he looks at immigration as an opportunity because Ohio has a “stagnant growth of population — we want people to come to Ohio.”

I live in Texas. I can tell you Kasick lucked out when fracking was discovered in Ohio. That was their growth. Ohio was declining before fracking and since oil/gas is down, Ohio will continue to decline.
Like someone above said, if you are not creating jobs, but rather continuing to lose jobs, people will move away.

Why do we need more people?
We already have far too many in some areas.
The US was a nice place to live and quite successful in the WWII era with half the population of today.
Florida was a nice place to live 30 years ago but now it is starting to look and feel like California.
The same could be said for many other southern states.
Most of our cities have been turned into not much more than welfare plantations populated by millions of non-productive people who don’t contribute to the American economy or quality of life.
How many more of those does Kasich think he needs in Ohio?
The globalists (democrat and RINO) won’t be happy until every square inch of America is either a No0Go federal park or reserve, and the remainder is wall to wall people packed up on top of each other like the ghettos of India, Africa, Los Angeles, Detroit and other American cities.
There aren’t many major domestic problems you can name that aren’t caused by, or made worse by the growth in population since 1965.

Population is stagnant? So are your rivers and many cities.
Crime is NOT stagnant. Critical thinking is. Many of your universities are stagnant cesspools of Marxism and Gender/Race extremism.
Ohio is a beautiful state. Keep on cleaning it up and you don’t need immigrants to do it. Help your own people get a better education, job skills, and basic knowledge of how to get along with one another.
That is the way to get rid of any stagnancy. “If you clean up the state, people will come”.
