... According to the operative who ran a pro-Trump political organization prior to the First in the South presidential primary many of the new hands ushered aboard the Trump Train in recent weeks are not loyal to their new employer. Their allegiances remain with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas the second-place GOP finisher who bitterly denounced Trump when he dropped out of the presidential race back in May.
I told you Never Trump would infiltrate his campaigns most inner sanctum, the aide told us late Monday. And they clearly succeeded. Knowingly plagiarizing Michelle Obamas speech? Wow.
According to the aide, Miller is one of several establishment Republican operatives loyal to Cruz who are working hard to sabotage Trumps campaign from within like ISIS infiltrating the refugee population...

#NeverTrumpers = #BLM...both are evil.
BUMP the hell out of that!!! The communist, pro-terrorist media IGNORED them on purpose.
It could result from pure coincidence; could result from one or both writers simply recalling something they had heard, not as something they had heard, but just as a way of conveying three closely related thoughts. It happens all the time, that people use phrases they have heard, without consciously seeking to copy phrases they have heard.
The way to handle this, as I have pointed out in #145 is head on. Let Melania introduce a video of her very effective speech, by explaining the controversy, and asking the viewers to judge the effort for themselves. Putting the whole thing in context completely destroys the idea os some sinister purpose--particularly when it is the speaker, herself, who invites the judgement. She has the natural ability to make this very, very effective.
This could be as effective as Nixon's "Little Dog" speech (about "Checkers." It is opportunity. Properly handled, she could reach a huge audience--a classic opportunity to sell Donald Trump to many now scoffing. (That is because many non-Trump would tune in to see what this whole flap was about!)
Hell yes. If this was sabotage this must get out. We need to be the campaign of truth. Someone either was a total idiot, looking at Mooch’s speech, or else it was sabotage. What else will they do?
Trump needs to Erdogan his new staff...
Under normal circumstances, yeah. But this is a presidential campaign and both sides are looking for anything they can hit the other side with. It's the kind of mistake that could have easily been avoided if someone had done their job correctly.
And don't overlook the fact that Melania Trump could have been a real asset to the campaign. First reviews of her speech were all positive, and then it blew up over the plagiarism claims. After what the media did to her over this then I doubt she'll make another appearance again, and I can't say I'd blame her. So that takes away something the Trump campaign could have used to their advantage. And that's probably the reason for the hoopla to begin with.
If it is so common, find me the example from someone else. Go ahead. I tried and can’t find it.
When I heard that I got a bad feeling.
Can you imagine how she feels. She has kept in the background. Her first big entrance and it blows up in her face. So many were talking about how well Romney’s wife did and how important this speech was ,etc.
I feel badly for her.
The don't have to. There's software available that campaigns feed speeches into specifically to locate similarities and to avoid gaffs like this. It was entirely preventable but who ever was working with Mrs. Trump on the speech didn't do it.
I just kept wondering how I would have felt about a Democratic potential first lady with a foreign accent.
There was another thread, earlier today, where some of the posters had scanned various sources, to illustrate the widespread use of he chiches. I do not remember the thread.
Any normal person would. None of this was her fault and the media make her out to be a laughing stock. I wouldn't blame her if she made a bee line back to wherever Barron was and stayed with him for the rest of the campaign.
Partisanship is sickening. We need to stand for truth. I don’t stand with FReepers who act like libs and love their guy right or wrong. Sorry. This fits the legal and common sense parameters for plagiarism and the speech is from a former nominee spouse. Indefensible, yet the rah rah people ignore truth and swarm like flies to defend wrong doing.
THE TRUMPS ARE INNOCENT here. I feel so bad for Melania. She seems shy and private. I feel bad for Trump, who is so proud of his wife. And now she is made a laughing stock.
He needs to admit it was plagiarism and fire the guy responsible. Trump cannot be a liar. He owes us honesty.
He had a huge problem with the state conventions, he didn’t bother to send a ground game and get the delegates for in case it went to a second ballot. Now he managed to pull the numbers so it won’t go to a second ballot but there was a whole lotta drama that only happened because nobody in his candidacy bothered to find out how delegates actually get sent to the national convention.
You still aren’t getting the point. It’s not the cliche. I have used all of them.
String them together in the exact same way and find me someone else who has done it. There are millions of speeches on the internet. Surely someone else has done it THE EXACT SAME WAY. HOW MANY TIMES???
Ooops, Michelle’s writers and Melania’s writers just happen to be the only ones that use that same exact sentence structure by accident?????
How can you ignore that possibility that someone is trying to hurt Trump with this. It blows my mind.
Yep. I think it can best be described as an unforced error and lost opportunity. Outside of this, the evening had some amazing moments. Notably your two examples, Giuliani and Melania. The contrast was set with the other party.
On the plus side, Trump is probably telling her to get back in the fight and show them what you are made of.. I can hear him now.
NOTHING “happened”. A couple of sentences were generic and
somewhat similar. - A tempest in a teacup; an attempted
distraction and trial balloon to see what will rile TRUMP.
Also, an attempt to put Michelle in the spotlight. The
high points of Moochie’s speech was it was the “first time
in her life she had been proud of America” and Mooch had it
tough (boo hoo).
Not just somewhere similar.
EXACT WORDING.
