It was more likely due to carelessness and disorganization than any deliberately planned act. Writing and vetting Melania Trump’s speech was obviously not high on the list of Monday night priorities and so this blunder slipped through. Maybe now Trump will realize why other candidates have campaign staffs in the hundreds instead of a few dozen.
Unless as some here have speculated Trump did this deliberately to dominate the news cycle.

There is absolutely a sentence that is lifted off of Michelle’s speech. Use Bing or Google to see if you can find any other instance of it being used in THAT EXACT WAY on the internet besides Melania and Michelle.
Too many similarities to be an accident. Bring back waterboarding.
Some speech writer wanted to make her and Donald look like amateurs. The Rick Roll in the speech was telling, too.

I hope they smoke the mole(s) out of his or her darkened hole. Donald may want to get one of his adult kids to assist with final editing of all public speeches and teleprompting materials when those are utilized. Something’s rotten in Cleveland, and you can bet this won’t be the last time sabotage is attempted. Those NeverTrumps are on a manic mission to destroy what they cannot control.

The whole first day was filled with many devastating comparisons. The selection of the speakers was genius! To weave the comparison from what the left says with forced emotion compared to the true & raw emotion of those wronged! Those who’s lives impacted by leftist policies and the last 7 and 1/2 years of incompetence. The hate America crowd compared to the crowd that loves America.
After 7 and 1/2 years of Obama family values, I think the US will do very well with President Trump & First Lady Melania!
People were too busy looking at her legs to pay much attention to her speech.
Not really, common themes in speeches bring about similar words, and if your parents said your word is you bond then that is what they said.
This is exactly why I can’t understand the attitude of the people on this site claiming it doesn’t matter that this happened.
IF Trump didn’t intentionally do it, he needs to ferret out those responsible and get rid of them...either they are LAZY or diabolical.
Who is so stupid in that camp that they think no one is going to notice they lifted Michelle’s speech when they know the media is looking at every word.

Staffers from any of the other primary campaigns should be highly suspect. If Trump intends to win this election, he is going to have to blackball any staffers who ever worked for Romney, Cruz, the Bushes, or any other global communist GOP-e candidate.
There are services that students and teachers use to check for plagerized papers, is this available for public speakers? Seems like an easy thing to check for these days. Who didn’t check?
I did a search on an EXACT sentence. I could find no other instance of someone stringing together those words IN THE SAME WAY but Melania and Michelle.

Sorry, but I just can’t get worked up over this. A politician’s wife, or even a politician, giving a speech is not a Grad student being graded for creating an original work.
Also, how many bands cover another group’s song? Doesn’t make it automatically wrong or bad. When giving a speech, sure it is better to give credit to the original author, if one can even be identified, but really, I don’t see the big deal.
I think it might be a closeted Cruz supporter counting coup.
I don’t think much of it. It has nothing to do with Trump’s run for president. The left are grasping at Straws. They can only hold onto this thing for a day or so.
