Statement on Melania Trump Speech
"In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her lifes inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melanias immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.
-Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor
if you use the same speech template,
you likely get the same speech.
the same worn out clichés,
are herd at every commemcement
Melania for vice president!
Note: Our beloved vice president Biden admitted to plagiarism in law school(!), but insisted it was not ‘malevolent.’ He claimed that he just didn’t know the rules for citing references (in law school!) Sounds like hillary. He considered the attention being given to his multiple plagiarized speeches to be “much ado about nothing.”
Now he’s a heartbeat away from the presidency. What a country!
This statement doesn’t seem to address the plagiarism claim other than to say that, as expected, Melania did not write the speech herself.
You are correct with the fragment part. I was wrong.
Listen, I agree they lifted the words. I don’t blame Melania for it. Someone did it whether with ill intent or not. There were a few words changed, although not many and the paragraph structure and order was the same. What was conveyed in those words are common thoughts of Americans, so maybe the speechwriter thought changing just a little bit and putting it in would make it okay. The other theory is it was done on purpose. The campaign hasn’t specifically addressed that it was lifted. Blaming the speechwriter would probably end most of the controversy, with the exception of the liberals who will harp on her saying she wrote it herself with a little help to impugn her character.
“FReepers who accept wrongdoing if its our guy.”
You are absolutely correct. We should all call for an independent counsel to get to the bottom of this. Comey will have no choice but to hand out indictments. Melania belongs behind bars. /s
> Hell, maybe they did it knowing it would get under the skin of the
> lefties in and out of the press.
Under their skin? They are milking this around the world and enjoying every minute of it! Not something to celebrate, that the main speaker day 1 was one big Obama quote and everyone exited when Veterans hit the stage.
Everyone at FR hates Cruz these days, but he would have done much better at having a convention...
My father is de deceased, or he could sue Michelle Obama for the first questionable sentence. After all they are both from Illinois...
pure Genious....the every leftist website in the world is carring pictures of her sid by side w the “current 1st “lady”/////...what did B.O. call “her”....mike?
fantastic marketing
I remember JFK's famous line as well as MLK’s being lifted [accusations] in part from something else, yet they are canonized today. Are the detractors going after solely the fact that a part of her feelings and ideas (evidently shared by Michelle Obama in her statements)or is it they don't agree with them? Is it because there was nothing else to blame on her and pick at? In my opinion, yes.
That's the best carping they can do at this point, because they certainly point out things like a semitrailer ass, horrible fashion (Mau Mau or Chairman Mao, take your pick) or thick cankles that would make a Clydesdale jealous.
Oy. All that Mooch needs to accessorize that outfit is a lamppost and a public defender.
If one were to believe our local news (which I don’t) no one else spoke, no one else made a speech, no one else
had anything to say....crickets on convention...OOH except for the 30 secs of Melania’s speech and what she wore.
“Everyone at FR hates Cruz these days, but he would have done much better at having a convention.”

He sure as blazes didn’t do very well at running a campaign. And since he’s now just a footnote, it’s probably time to let go of entertaining fantasies of how great he might have been.
It’s not really plagiarism in the strictest sense. The words are a little different. There are similarities. Besides, democrats plagiarize themselves all the time. “Tax and spend”....”Tax and spend”...”Tax and spend”. Been going on for decades.
With all due respect to Mrs Trump, the speech and ideas were fairly trite. Any second-rate speech writer might spew out this rather cliched stuff. To state some common ideas in common ways doesn’t require a lot of original thought. To call it plagiarism elevates Mrs Obama’s speech in a way it simply doesn’t deserve.
It’s not exactly “I Have A Dream” or “Tear Down This Wall.”
The libs are having a field day with that on facebook, twitter and newspapers. “Melania plagiarizes Michelle's speech.", etc. etc.
Much of what Michelle Obama said could be said by anyone at anytime, and because it’s meaning is so generic, it was nothing profound or special. I think Melania’s speech serves to highlight that mediocrity. She looked a lot better than Michelle Obama saying the same things and that makes Melania and her speech anything but mediocre.
Sue those friggin speech writers into oblivion. They set her up.
I could care less if Melania said anything even close to what the Moooooooooooooch said over eight years ago. The HUGE difference is the “class” which she displayed when saying it. Melania Trump oozes class, which is far and away unlike Michelle Odumbo who displays utter anger whenever she speaks. Yes, the Moooooooch displays the sign of a very sick, disgusting, and evil person who hates America.
Not guilty
There, someone said it
