Statement on Melania Trump Speech

"In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.”

-Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor

So they are admitting that she or her speechwriters used Michelle Obama’s speech as inspiration?

Wonder how the libs will react to that?

I had no idea that Michelle was from Slovenia.

Nor that she was ever a fashion model! LOL

When did MOOCH have a son?

And just when did the MOOCH ever live in Italy and France?

One of Melania’s paragraphs had sentences that were word for word the same as part Michele’s speech in ‘08 at the Dem convention.

I am pretty sure I heard Melania say, “For the first time in my life I am proud of my country,” tonight, right?

Or am I hearing things?

Oh no they did NOT!

I watched a repeat of Melania's speech, with MOOCH's words in front of me. The theme was the same, the WORDS ARE DIFFERENT! Any article that cl,aims or shows that the words in one sentence ( and that's all it is ) are the same, have been TAMPERED with!

You have fallen for a damned HOAX !

One of Melania’s paragraphs had sentences that were word for word the same as part Michele’s speech in ‘08 at the Dem convention.

The words in question were platitudes likely to turn up in a high school valedictorian's speech.

Moochelle uttered them, but it's unlikely they were original with her.

They were very similar but not word for word.

This is all a nothing burger. The ideas and ideals both women said have been said in speeches a million times. What a bunch of weenies here on FR.

Who has not said, “I was taught to work hard, dream, work hard to reach my dreams and pass those ethics on to my children.”?

You hear those sentences at every award ceremony.

This is a big yawn.

The words are so old, they are hoary with age! As I said on another thread, Dolly Madison probably said them too.

I think the theme of making it in life, morals, children and great husbands would be found as themes in at least half the speeches of women whose husbands ran for President.

Classy Trump.

We all work, we all dream p, we all try to make our dreams come true and we all try to pass on those qualities on to our children.

Malaria did an excellent job.

On Twitter people have spliced the two speeches to play at the same time and they are too identical not to have been plagiarism. I am dismayed at FReepers who accept wrongdoing if it’s our guy. Is the other side less moral and good? Definitely. Does that mean we can lie and steal? No.

Stop making excuses, those here who are. This was wrong and we should make it right.

Someone needs to come clean that this was a steal and a head should roll.

Poor Melania, who trusted Donald’s speech writers. I feel so bad for her. I’m sure she had no idea or she wouldn’t have said it.

You’re right it’s old as dust. If I looked longer, I could probably find a quote from Ceasar saying it. In the meantime:

John D. Rockefeller, Jr.:
‘I believe in the sacredness of a promise, that a man’s word should be as good as his bond; that character - not wealth or power or position - is of supreme worth”

or W. Lamb:
“Your word is your bond. Make sure your words match your actions. Keep your word and fulfill your promises. Your character is more important than your reputation.”

or Orson Welles:
In common with all Protestant and Jewish cultures, America was developed on the idea that your word is your bond. Otherwise the frontier could never have been opened, ‘cause it was lawless. A man’s word has to mean something.”

or even Charles Dickens:
“The word of a gentleman is as good as his bond; and sometimes better”
