Passed over for the job of joining the Republican presidential ticket as Donald Trumps running mate, Newt Gingrich showed Monday that his willingness to serve as an attack dog has not diminished. In a pair of morning show interviews Monday on ABC and MSNBC, respectively, the former House speaker showed no hesitation in sharing his opinions on, among other topics, President Barack Obama, race in America, the Bush family and Trumps campaign.
Gingrich dismissed the notion that the lack of prominent Republicans at this weeks national convention in Cleveland represented some larger trouble within the GOP. He attacked 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney, a vocal opponent of Trumps, as a bandwagon jumper whose support for the party lasted as long as we were supporting him. The former speaker had even stronger words for the Bush family, none of whom will be in Cleveland this week.

The pandering has to stop.
A lot of Texans support Trump and, if Cruz, pulls his crap, he will be finished just like you predict. I was born and raised in Texas and lived there the majority of my life. I know friends and family there still who support Trump wholeheartedly. And, I have email friends all over the country who tell me that everyone they know is supporting Trump!!!
Newt, right about Mitt and da bushes.
I agree with you folks. Ted has overstayed his welcome in our hearts.
Last year I very much wanted him to be the Vice Presidential pick. Today I don’t even want him at the convention.
If I had my wish, he’d be back in the private sector within six years, and never heard from again.
If he pulls the McCain 2001 routine (trashing Bush policy (good or not) against Trump every weekend on the talking head shows, I’ll loathe the guy more than I do now.
As it is, I get a bit angry every time I hear his name.
“Last year I very much wanted him to be the Vice Presidential pick. Today I dont even want him at the convention.”
I was of the same mind. In hindsight, it’s just so surprising how “played” I was with respect to Cruz. Early on, I too thought a Trump/Cruz ticket would be unbeatable.
As voters, we’ve been played by the media and haven’t been diligent in our personal vetting of candidates. We needed Donald Trump to start the dialogue about all these so-called “conservatives” who have skillfully, with media “help,” crafted false narratives about themselves that got them elected repeatedly. While all the while, they were serving their “monied masters” while screwing their constituents. All you need to do to see how ugly these people are is to review the “re-election” of Thad Cochran.
I cannot believe this jackass Cruz thinks he is important enough to think he can waltz into the RNC convention and regain anything but out and out stupidity!!!
He lied, not only to the people of Texas about his Canadian Citizenship, but he lied out right to the American People about who he was, he was caught in one lie after another, and he’s suppose to be this ‘great constitutioalist’ and he doesn’t know that whoever has the most delegate count and won the most states in a primary is the nominee, and he got his feelings hurt in Indiana and pulled out...he gets NOTHING!!!
If the people of Texas re elect his unimportant POS then they deserve what they get...sure glad I don’t live there...
Texas is a beautiful State with a great Governor, just cannot believe Texans of all people fell for this idiots B.S!!!
Yes, I agree with your thoughts.
You voiced mine. Nice to see others agreeing, or thoughts I can agree with totally. Thanks.
We live and learn.
OF course!
Why do you think that media showed it to you?
I've yet to be at a funeral where there was NO levity to be seen.
The Bush family’s affinity for all things Mexican makes perfect sense. Mexico and other Latin American countries have institutionalized cronyism and the oligarchic padrone system, which is a model for how the Bushes think the US should be run (with Bushes and their allies as the oligarchs, of course).
“Kasichs behavior is especially egregious. Hes the governor of the damned state. For him to skip his own partys convention in his state is beyond petty.”
You need to understand he actively trying to ‘finish the border’ as he said in virtually every debate.
Far, far to busy!
“...founded...by the Whitney family...”
Remove the fifth letter from ‘Whitney’ and you’ve got...
+1 it’s always been his one best attribute...he really should start a school for repub’s on how to handle libs
I find it ironic that the Bush Dynasty has been seriously undone by the Hispanic demographic tsunami they helped engineer and hoped to surf to the White House.
Some jokingly said he stayed in so that his campaign could fund his personal travel and meals.
They’re acting childish because they ARE childish and always have been. They’re spoiled little brats.
This seems obvious to me. Plus, he wouldn’t have the stamina.
Maybe Jebbie could do a “full pick”, and have it show on thee Jumbotron!
Though I have often considered Bob Dole too much of a compromiser, it was good to see him alone among past nominees in Cleveland. I am glad I finally voted for him in 1996 against Mr. Bill. I didn’t see Elizabeth. Was she there?
Its 100k acres
